Bought a Wowcher for £9.00 and booked a table for two on a Friday night. The sign on the restaurant was broken a letter was missing, it looked really run down and badly maintained. We went in, the place smelled, we were not greeted with smiles, we were put on a small table and given ugly menus with unappetising choices. I ordered a soup and my boyfriend ordered a lamb sheekh kebab. The soup was extremely gross and watery, there was no bread. It looked like it came from a tin. Certainly not a decent tin. My boyfriend was given a small single kebab cut into two pieces with a slice of tomato and old lettuce. The starters were cold. The coke was not fizzy and we were charged £2 per drink. The main courses chosen were lamb jalfrezi and lamb pasanda. I have never had anything quite so bad in my life, having had the best curries in my lifetime, I would never call these dishes curries. They were not even edible. We ordered two sides of rice which were dry small portions and they cost an extra £3 each. These main courses didn't come with any sides. It was appalling and they never came over to ask us if everything was alright although it was obvious we couldn't eat much due to the taste. If i were to describe my experience I would call this a nightmare. I was so disappointed, I couldn't find the words to say anything to the staff. My boyfriend had to duly pay the extra charges of £12 which includes 10% service charge of everything we ordered that night, irregardless of the Wowcher deal that was already paid for in advance. By the way the wowcher deal doesn't cover King prawns or steak from the menu so we had to choose the cheaper options. In total he had to spend £21 for this terrible ordeal. My advice to you, don't bother wasting your time here, you will certainly be underfed and disappointed that you didn't go somewhere else instead.
The customer service was the only good thing in this restaurant and that is the only reason i am giving it more than one star. i bought a wowcher online for this restaurant. When we got there we were not allowed to substitute some items for others even though the other items we wanted to substitute for were cheaper. The portions were incredibly small and you could definitely tell the difference of quality. The wowcher was 12 pounds and we ended up paying 15 on the top of that, that is 27 pounds total for an indian meal for two at a below average restaurant. I have never paid that price at an indian restaurant before. If we were to have gone and order two main dishes we would have paid less than 12 pounds the wowcher deal and not be ripped off of an additional 15. They took a 10 % gratuity out of the original price not the wowcher price. I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone purchasing a wowcher for them. If you want to experience the service and the below average taste, then go there without a wowcher and you would save and get a decent portion.
Lovely atmosphere, delicious food! The manager specialties are very good, and the chicken tikka masala was just perfect. Will definitely come back next time and ask them delivery food.
fast, friendly, efficient and very tasty. slightly orthodox menu and the beer was a little warm. considering the price though, great value overall.
