By far the best omakase place in London to date coming from someone whose tried all of them. When it comes to quality and authenticity, Taku is a sure winner here which comes to no surprise as we have been blessed with the arrival of Takuya Watanabe from Jin Paris. There are 3 menus you can choose from - lunch 17 courses, standard 20 courses and prestige, which comes with premium courses. The prestige menu is sublime with the abalone risotto dish having a permenant place in my heart alongside their mont blanc dessert. The menu is spenny, however, considering Jin's prestige menu is 500euros, makes me quite happy. The restaurant itself features a very long counter. It is simple and elegant, which feeds into their theme of a no frills omakase experience - letting the meal speak for itself, which is something I've been looking for in London for a long time. Well done. Will be back for my birthday next year.
Lovely new omakase restaurant in London by an amazing chef! Had a really great time here. Fresh and high quality ingredients with a unique selection of sake
Hands down best Omakase in London. Difficult to find a more authentic experience than at Taku! Thank you to the team for a wonderful night!
One of the best omakase experiences available in London. Top quality dishes served with care and outstanding ingredients. Each dish was explained by staff who are extremely friendly. Wide selection of wines and sake available also. The Prestige menu was worth it. Thank you for accommodating us, will be back soon!
This was by far the best Omakase i have ever been to in Europe/UK it was the most authentic and all of my chefs friends thought the same. If you are someone who really understands food you will love it here.
Absolutely stunning. Wow. What an incredible dinning experience. Remember the first time you saw a snowflake or tasted ice cream as a child? It’s like that. A beautifully prepared tasting menu that will redefine your opinion of Japanese omakase. You won’t be disappointed & worth every penny. The service and customer care is also amazing and the selection of sake is exquisite. Keep up the fine work.
One of the most exciting Japanese restaurants in Mayfair! Taku is an amazing and highly skilled chef who served us an omakase to remember. The quality of the fish was very high and the interiors reminded me of my time in Japan. Highly recommend for a date night.
It felt awkward in the beginning when I was seated, Omakase is an intimate and special dining experience, we didn’t get a formal introduction to the chefs, where they’re from, the history and credibility of the chefs and restaurant, - we went straight into our first dish. We had little contact with the main chef, the service was great however I wanted more interaction with the chef and hear more about the story and design of each course to really give this dining experience the value it’s worth. I gave two stars, one for the incredible service from the waiters and one for the great location and interior of the restaurant. The chefs weren’t bad but there’s room for improvement!
Wonderful evening each course was a culinary delight well explained by a most attentive staff! We look forward to coming again! Our high expectations were exceeded!!
This was quite simply the best Japanese food I have had in a superb venue and in amazing proximity to a world class Michelin starred chef.
