I bought the Bjorn extendable dining table from Swoon for £519 plus £50 delivery fee in Nov-2022. Just four months after using it fair use, nothing strenuous or onerous, one of the legs became extremely wobbly which made the table unstable. This is because the table was extremely poor designed - the table top and legs are heavy the table is at least 20kg+, made of premium oak, however despite the weight, the legs are connected to the table top by very small screws approx. 5-6cm inserts. I am not an engineer, but simple logic dictates the length and size of the screws cannot possibly support the weight of the table! One of the legs have now come off and can no longer be screwed back in the holding nut got loose. On asking Swoon to assist with repairing or otherwise offering a partial refund for this shambles of a product, their simple response was they will not be assisting customers once past the 30-day return window. Madness! I am fairly sure a complaint within 6-months entitles a consumer to at least a repair or a partial refund under current UK consumer law. This was extremely poor from Swoon, the design & engineering was a failure and customer service atrocious. My only advice if you are reading this, please stay away if you can!
Beware, there is a reason Swoon is rated so poorly! They are liars and have zero accountability for customer service. Never purchase from them! We waited 10 weeks for a king size bed. We paid for a TaskRabbit guy to assemble it only to find out they gave us a king headboard but double slats so it was unusable. Customer service won’t send the proper sized slats for 2 weeks or offer some solution. We decided to get a refund but they won’t pick up the bed for another week. What are we supposed to do with a useless bed taking up all our space? I’m 9 months pregnant without a bed…
I will not buy from Swoon again until they stop using Rhenus Home Delivery. Rhenus are the worst courier I've ever experienced, 4 of 5 times I had a delivery booked, something went wrong. Sorry, but until you dump this delivery company you've lost a customer.
I was a bit concerned after reading some of these other reviews, but I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The sideboard I ordered was delivered well before I was expecting it. I was texted the morning of the delivery with a 2 hour window. They showed up on time and assembled it in my living room. The quality seems great and it’s a really fabulous statement piece in my room. I can only say positive things about both my piece of furniture and my entire experience with swoon.
I would highly recommend not ordering from here. We ordered a chest of drawers. The first one arrived damaged. Chips along the base showing cheap MDF. Arranged for a new one to be sent. This one arrived even worse with a broken drawer. They messed up the collection of the original set so we’re now stuck with two unusable sets of drawers and they have all our money. We canceled an order for a side table arriving in April as the quality is so poor. I would not recommend ordering here. Customer service has helped to remedy. Still waiting for collection and refund though, so still a bit worried if that will go accordingly.
This brand is absolutely a disgrace to deal with. We purchased a sideboard in late November 2020, which the item at the time of purchase was showing “in stock”. So we were expecting the item to be delivered within 7-10 days, then we got an email saying it would be delivered shortly after new year. We then chased them again a few days before Christmas, their reply on the 17th of December was it would be delayed in mid May 2021!!! Why would you lie to your customers on something that you don’t have?! We understand that brands nowadays don’t stock their products as they used to anymore, however, if you don’t have the product, just simply put out of stock instead of lying to us and having us to wait for 6 months!!! We would never buy anything from this brand anymore, such a disappointment and dishonest brand!!!
If it was possible to give zero stars I would. DO NOT USE this company. The worst customer experience in the world. I ordered a sofa in January, and despite happily taking my money whilst they took 10 weeks to make it, it eventually turns out the sofa was never made. So in April I had to start all over again. After requesting a temporary sofa in the meantime, I have had 3 failed deliveries of a temporary sofa - including one where the sofa was sent to the wrong city! Turns out Swoon had been storing previous address information on my file without my consent and had decided to update my order address and billing address with incorrect information. Today I have yet again had a failed delivery - this time not even a phone call or text to let me know. I have written several emails of complaint no complaints department and no direct number to phone and months later am still waiting on even a courteous phone call to let me know what on earth is happening. Never ever again, absolutely shocking. Funny how all the replies to the bad reviews say "I can see XXX is looking into this for you from our escalations team " - the team who you cannot call and who do not respond to emails. Still without a sofa 6 months later. - thanks a bunch Swoon.
Awful service. Ordered an item of furniture with a promise of a 2 to 3 week delivery time. Customer service fobbed me off with all manner of vague excuses. Slick website but the service and delivery is terrible. I eventually cancelled the order
The worst customer experience I have ever had. When you pay the price for nice furniture, when something doesn't go to plan you expect that the price would cover a great service too; you would be wrong. It's impossible to get a solution - two were in progress, both failed. I asked for a call three times, average response time, 48 hours. Furniture delivered past date on the site, then told end of April to my home, then showed up before a BH when I was away, mid organising a redelivery and they're sent back and now lost, nothing they can do until August. Called last Saturday where I was told the escalation team would call and no call or email in the 10 days since. In the meantime they reappear on site, ordered again, due in 2-3 days, 5 days later no communication. Swoon, maybe you should stop spending money on your Instagram advertising and your basics sorted out. A good product tracking system that ensures you don't mislead and misinform your customers, and a client services team empowered and rewarded for finding solutions. Products good enough for a life time loyalty, after sale process worth telling everyone I come across to avoid.
Bad experience due to a couple delivery issues and lacklustre customer service. After waiting 7 weeks for an £800 sofa I was excited when it was ready to be delivered. I took time off work so I could be home for the delivery but nothing arrived. I was assured this was a rare occurrence and would not happen on the next attempt. So I rebooked the delivery, took more time off work... and nothing arrived again! Feeling incredibly frustrated I messaged Swoon to see what they could do to resolve this issue. After a few days of no reply I contacted them again but this time via the live chat. I explained the issue then was kept waiting for about 15 minutes because the staff was busy dealing with another customer. The response then given was that I should book a third delivery attempt. Not wanting to be the fool, I opted to cancel my order and get a refund. I didn't feel like going through the process again with no promise that my sofa would show up. However more importantly was that I didn't feel like Swoon made any gestures to help or show they cared. Had they done something I would have given the third delivery another chance. Unfortunate because I really wanted that sofa.
