Best rail station. I left a bag on a train ending here and they helped me find it after a call and roping in multiple people. I am very grateful for the effort they put in and how nice they were especially Stewart/Stuart at the help desk and the lady working in the building by the small gate, and happy to have my bag back.
Recovering from the economic impact of the loss of Honda cars and another major employer, Swindon is still worthy of a visit. The older centre of the town has much of interest, and the town is certainly a good base for exploring the ancient countryside nearby.
Fairly typical of train stations across the UK, functional but without any particular standout features. What you should be prepared for, especially during peak hours, are the crowded trains bound for London. The high demand can result in packed train carriages, sometimes even spilling into the aisles.
This is my first time at this station. There was a platform change to catch my next train, and the helpful and friendly ground staff guided me to the correct platform to wait for my train.
Amazing place. Well structured easy access to the platforms. Helpful staff
