Sun Rising is one of a small number of dedicated natural burial grounds in the country, providing a beautiful alternative for the burial of loved ones. Coffin burial or interment of cremated remains can be in meadows of wildflowers or in developing woodland.

In glorious countryside at the edge of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sun Rising offers peace and security, together with a caring, supportive and professional service for each and every family.The site is open every day of the year:October - March: 8am - 5pm.April - September: 8am - 8pm.Office hours: 9am - 5pm. On the saddest of days Emma and her team did a wonderful job when I laid my partner to rest in a truly beautiful setting. The idea is they are developing the site as a natural meadow. Peace and calm reigns. Just perfect.
At a very distressing time everything was done for us by Emma, and the whole process was made so much easier, as this was the first funeral I have had to arrange. Emma was helpful and empathetic, she came across as so calm that it helped me deal with the loss of my daughter. I would recommend everyone to lay their loved ones to rest at Sunrising, which is a beautiful place, and feel assured you will get all the help you need at an extremely difficult time. I would like to thank Emma and her staff for all they did for us. I plan to go there myself as I know the family will find it easier to arrange. Thankyou Emma. Lin Phillips.
We laid my son in law to rest here yesterday, we had little concept of what to expect but it was a seamlessly smooth process right from the initial contact. Emma guides in the parking, a wonderful wheeled cart takes the coffin from the hearse to the roundhouse, where there is the ceremony, and afterwards the coffin is guided again on the cart to the gravesite where it is interned to the ground. It is very peaceful, as religious or not as you want. Its windy and open to the elements but it has a raw, back to nature, almost pagan feel about it, you leave feeling it was the absolute perfect place to leave your loved one. Its changed my mind on what I wanted when i die.
A beautiful and peaceful place with friendly and understanding people. I too cannot recommend Sun Rising Natural burial ground highly enough. Right from the get go, Emma and her husband were very empathetic and immediately made me feel at ease which is something I have never felt before while making funeral arrangements. Someone advised me to drive around and visit local burial sites and suggested that I would know the right place when I found it and I certainly knew that we had found the right place as soon as we arrived at Sun Rising. Thank you Emma, for everything. x
We buried my Mum a few days ago. It Was the most peaceful and spiritual experience I could have wished for. Emma gently advised and guided us through our time at Sunrising. We cannot thank her and her team enough. We wished for a private and personal send off for Mum and it was just that. We can highly recommend Sunrising to anyone looking for a special location, personal service and a break from tradition and dogma.
I simply can't recommend Sun Rising highly enough. Such a peaceful and picturesque setting that my wife and I can now go to with our three young children to spend time remembering my dad; the children's 'Pops'. Thank you to Emma and her husband who supported me laying dad's ashes to rest and the planting of a beautiful memorial tree that will now grow in his memory. I have no doubt Sun Rising has helped my young family finally start to grieve for our loss whilst also remembering the many, many happy and special times we spent with him. X
Why is it not open on a weekend as most of us work so can only make a weekend for a visit to a loved one I think this should be reviewed so we can come and show our respects even for a few hours would be awsome
