Story

It’s the delicious coffee and tea that keeps customers coming back for more! Stokes have been producing quality freshly roasted coffee and fine teas for more than 100 years.

It is this vast experience and knowledge of coffee and tea which has ensured that stokes is a leading figure in the catering and retail industries.

The company was established in 1902 when Robert William Stokes opened his first grocer's shop. Coffee and Tea soon became Mr. Stokes' passion and he began to specialize in tea blending and coffee roasting, for which he won many commercial competitions.

Much has changed since R.W Stokes first began trading, but the principles of the business have remained the same. Now the fourth generation of the family is proud to adhere to the founder’s original policies of absolute freshness, quality service, and value for money.

Wonderful historic building setting for this fabulous place to eat. A large range of fresh high quality tea and coffee served by polite and pleasant staff. Tasty and good quality food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

A hard one to review. On the one side the food is exceptional and the surroundings are quaint and unique. On the flip side it can be a touch pricey and the unique historic building affords little luxury, with small hard wooden bench seats, cramped booths and steep thin stairs. They have a minimum spend per person too, so even a quick coffee and snacks for two will cost about 20 pounds. The food and building is worth an experience but don't expect luxury facilities to match the prices, don't take groups bigger than 4 (which itself is a elbow to elbow squeeze) and because of the cramped steep steps up to the restaurant and small space once there, don't take very old or disabled people or children without first checking they can manage. Worth trying at least once though.

Beautiful building over 3 storeys.Wonderful service and staff all in a lovely black and white traditiinal uniform. Wide range of teas and coffee. Buy your loose teas and coffee beans on the way out . Food is amazing. A must visit if in Lincoln .

Good quality food and drinks, always busy so sometimes a bit of a wait. Not much room without going upstairs and the toilets are all upstairs...
