The train station is fantastically situated within Stirling city centre. It's well looked after and the barriers were easy to use.nnConnections to Glasgow and Edinburgh, plus there's a shop and cafe.
I'm a big fan of rail travel, though the prices these days are absurd. But this is a review of the Stirling Train Station, not the train network. Anyway, there's a decent cafe here, the ticket office seemed - to me at least - like a friendly place if you need to buy a ticket, and the ticket machines themselves work well - I never saw one that didn't work.nnBut most importantly for people like me, this is a station that still carries some of the romance of the old train network. It's kept clean and looks well-supervised by the station staff, but above all else it retains the charm and attractiveness of the stations of my youth and of my nostalgic dreams.

I left my suitcase on an LNER train having got off at Stirling. Soon after I discovered my mistake, I approached the staff at Stirling Station and they were tremendously helpful in helping me retrieve it. They called ahead and sorted out the logistics of my suitcases return from the station ahead, and I was reunited with it less than 2 hours later. Thank you Louise at Stirling train station for your care and consideration!
