Story

Stirling Castle is a great symbol of Scottish independence & a source of national pride. Visitors can now step back into the sumptuous world of Stirling Castle’s royal court. Our £12 million project has returned the six apartments in the castle’s Renaissance palace to how they may have looked in the mid-16th century.

A place of power, beauty and history, discover the favoured residence of Scotland's Kings and Queens! A great day out for all the family and simply unmissable!

I loved the overall experience. Very good guides. Though sometimes the Scottish accent is not that easy to follow it certainly adds to the atmosphere of the place! Fascinating glimpse into Scotland’s history, nice views from he castle hill, great gift shop with high quality and unique souvenirs. Parking is available near the castle gate - very convenient.

An imposing fortress in a beautiful part of Scotland. You need a complete morning or afternoon to fully appreciate this castle. Better still a full day! Lots of parking is available right by the castle so don't be afraid to drive right to the top... you don't have to park down below unless of course you fancy a stiff uphill 15 to 20 minute walk.

Great experience. Took the guided tour with Andrew. He was great. Very passionate with lots of side stories. It was very cold but no one from from the group since he made it so interesting. Highly recommended. While not as large as Edinburgh Castle, I liked Stirling better.

Brilliant place to visit - even in the rain! We went on the hour's tour which takes place on the hour every hour. Our guide Andrew was witty, well informed and thoroughly entertaining. The group of twenty or so stayed with him from beginning to end. Scottish history, amazing architecture and amusing anecdotes made this a day out to remember. There's also a great café with homemade soup and delicious bread and a gift shop with range of items from postcards to Celtic knot jewellery.

Beautiful castle set in wonderful central location. Very old and beautifully maintained. Gardens in excellent condition and even the road up to the castle is cobblestoned and impressive. The town is tremendously walkable and has plenty of bars and stores. Magic day out. Best to buy an annual membership and save loads of cash on visiting again and many other historical locations.
