Story

Stirling Castle is a great symbol of Scottish independence & a source of national pride. Visitors can now step back into the sumptuous world of Stirling Castle’s royal court. Our £12 million project has returned the six apartments in the castle’s Renaissance palace to how they may have looked in the mid-16th century.

A place of power, beauty and history, discover the favoured residence of Scotland's Kings and Queens! A great day out for all the family and simply unmissable!

Wow, what a beautiful castle! As we headed down towards Edinburgh, we stopped by, and we weren't disappointed. It is decently wheelchair accessible, with a few steep sections that are very evident. As you approach and leave the castle, you'll see that it seemingly rises out of the plain, and like Mt. Angel in Oregon, it offers splendid views of it's surroundings.nnIf you're looking to visit, I'd suggest taking at least a day to enjoy the castle and its surroundings, since they are quite vast. We took just an afternoon to take it all in, and I wish we had more time to appreciate it all.
This is a beautiful castle filled with history. Always wanted to visit here and we lived our visit. English Heritage members get half priced tickets too. Parking busy so arrive early. A lot of castle to see and you can easily spend a couple of hours here.nMy issue is you have to pay for an audio guide. There’s no information in the castle to say what anything is so you have no history as such to go by. This is a money making scheme and not right. Should either be free or there should be more information around. Secondly, the castle is more childlike in its decoration inside. It’s not castle like as it should be. Other than that, worth a visit.
Andrew and David gave a command performance during our Secrets of Stirling Castle Tour. Hands down the best tour I’ve had of any castle or manor in my life. The access we had to the corners and underbelly that the general public can only dream of seeing made it worth a trip to Scotland all on its own. This tour is amazing and nobody should miss it if going to Stirling Castle.
gorgeous castle, around same price as edinburgh castle to get in, lots of layers to see. great views. slightly confusing signage for toilets and great hall exhibition. giant highland cow in gift shop window unfortunately not for sale. cool miniature castle model as one exhibit.
Family of 4 visiting 3 adults and one 14 year old. No one got bored until the last room but we had been there 4 and the teenager started moaning, so boreds pribably not the right word lol.nnAbsolutley stunning castle. Full of rich history of the place and the surrounding areas and variois king and queens who occupied it. Amazing arcutecture too. Great freindly staff and actors. We enjoyed it way more than edinburgh castle.
