Wonderful local butcher - a neighbourhood establishment!! They have excellent quality meat - so flavourful and always from trusted local sources. John the owner is a delight, with great anecdotes, and very helpful advice on cooking and dog training... we often stop by on our way home from walking the dog. At this point I don't ask for specific cuts anymore - I just tell him what I am planning to cook and he recommends a cut of meat that is suited to the dish. It's invariably perfect. Not to mention the pricing is very fair.
Great, friendly local butcher. Lots of exceptional quality meats and cuts, with sound advice if you have any questions at all. Regular purchaser and will always return.
Unfortunately cannot agree with all the good reviews. We wanted to get a nice fillet steak here, but the butcher was trying everything he could to sell us a different cut sirloin. In the end he reluctantly gave us 2 pieces of fillet, which were really bad quality and almost fell apart see picture. We only saw this when we got home so did not go back, but for >£30 this is not acceptable for a butcher.
Superb quality and great service - always a pleasure to shop here.
Hygienic, friendly professional service. The owner only stocks from local farmers with good animal welfare practices. I went on a warm day and the meat was being kept in the fridge at the back because the owner felt it was more important to keep the meat fresh and clean than to display the products. I loved everything about it.
A wonderful butcher. The best bacon I've ever had, delicious chicken and such lovely, friendly people. Can't recommend highly enough.
I honestly not speak more highly about this place. John and his wife went out of their way to make a special chicken dish for my father who is poorly. The quality of the meat is superb, excellent value and a pillar of our community
Very good quality produce. Don't waste your money at the supermarket, buy at Stenton Family Butchers and avoid getting a bad cut of meat. Without having great cooking skills I always had good results with their produce.
Bought six sausages - cost £7.42. Over a £1 per sausage. Completely nuts. They tasted nice hence an additional star but felt like i was robbed!
