Needed an evening meal in Holyhead, didn't want spicy food as sailing next day. This pub was about the only place providing an excellent range of pub grub. Landlord was a top bloke very friendly and chatty with a sharp wit and recommended the fish and the pork chops we is what we both had and both meals were outstanding. Good range of drinks and food worth a visit.
Bar closes earlier than advertised, no food was served. rude staff & the room was below average, light in the bathroom didn’t work and the beds were ancient along with the room. Rude staff member banging on the door to scream at us to checkout 45 minutes before checkout time at 9:45am was not ideal either, on the door it clearly stated 10:30am. It was also advertised as a B&B but breakfast was not even entertained and was not granted time to shower. I realize it is a small town but courtesy and customer service, and overall property management could greatly be improved.
Stayed one night here before travelling on the ferry to ireland. And would love to visit again room was nice and the lady that showed us to our room was lovely and also someone found my daughters toy that she dropped and gave it to us was a lovely guy. Rooms: Spacious room and bed private bathroom needs a tiny bit of tlc but overall lovely place
Clean room, loads if tea and coffee facilities rather than the usual 2 of everything Good hot water, strong shower but decor in tge room tired and personally i found the bed mattress to be a bit thin and lumpy.. There is loud music on a Friday and Saturday until midnight which wasn't clear on the website so either take earplugs or go and join in ! I would stay again....it was good value and a good location ... Good price znd oarking and the back Food & drinks: Can't really comment as despite being a resident, and having checked in at 7.30pm after a long drive, u arrived a few minutes after 8pm to be told the kitchen was closed... disappointing...
If you are looking for a room to spend a romantic evening then perhaps you should look elsewhere. But, for me, a single bloke just looking for a clean room, with a shower that works, quiet, easy to park and well located, then perfect. Defo no frills tho with a very budget feel. I paid just over thirty pounds for a single room, which is probably about the right price. Rooms: Very basic, but, very clean !
Food was good beer was good. Beer was good. Shame they do not do coffee as they do food. Also, not allowed to bring a coffee in bought from the shop across the road. According to staff, brewery don't allow it. I've worked in pubs for over 50 years and first I've heard that. But as they say in life, first for everything.Service: 4/5
The room I had was ok, apart from the shower not working.. either to cold or red hot on full power. The staff where really nice.Rooms: 3/5
Stopped in for food on way to boat. Barman very friendly. The food was excellent, maybe not the most up to date place but definitely would go for food again and the welcome we got.
Same problem with my assistance dog the only reason we stayed were the locals we met in there, one sticks out a lovely lady who had adopted a baby, well done to you, I have a feeling that's a very lucky baby to end up with such a lovely lady and mum.Service: 2/5
Went in with about 15 people and asked one of them had a coffee cup she told us we weren’t allowed even though everyone was buying food and drink Very rude girl at the bar and ignores customers
