We attended the Darlington Carnival, and it was a great day out. The parade arrived in style, with a steel band, a group of Samba dancers, and accompanying drummers. There was plenty to see and do, and the weather certainly helped make the day one to remember. Looking forward to next year's carnival. Picnic area: Grassed areas to sit and plenty of shade under the trees. There are traditional benches there as well.
A superb carnival yet again the kids loved it! Dog-friendliness: All dogs allowed many dog walkers
Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing green area in Darlington with the occasional sound of tennis balls being hit. Birdsong and plenty of benches to choose from, full sun or shade. People cleaning up after their . Dog-friendliness: Great area to let your dog off the lead.....watch out for those kids tho' Picnic area: Choose from short grassy areas with your picnic blanket or park benches. Do clear up after yourselves tho'
Coco & Princess love walking through this park
Love this park, so relaxing, beautiful
Nice open spaces. 2 hard court tennis courts which are free to play on. Great in the summer!
A very clean and well kept public park! Very handy for local students to meet an discuss especially during spring and Summer as the College is nearby! It also has a Tennis Court and popular for dog walkers!
It's a nice place to just sit on a bench and take 5 or read a book, The stunning tree's are left to grow their natural shape, There is a fenced tennis court for public use, It's mostly clean from litter and dog mess thanks to plenty of litter bins, It does get a bit crowded at lunchtime being next to the collage but a great place to get away from it all
Just a small park to walk through always clean and tidy
Stanhope Park is nice and central and is very popular with dog walkers and students. At this time of the year it's also popular for collecting conkers as there are lots of Horse Chestnut trees. The grass also seems to get cut here more often than where I walk my dog in Cemetery Lane which is never maintained by Darlington council and is disappointing
