We ordered Samosa and Chana masala, when I flipped the samosa I see it’s burnt and bland, not sure if he purposely served it or it was his carelessness, after complaining about the burnt somosa he had a great heart to swap it with another one which Tasted very average and half cooked
Ordered chicken samosa, bhajji and golgappe. None of these tasted fresh and it was soggy not crispy.Food: 1/5
This is the worst Indian food I've ever had. They are selling Indian dishes that do not taste good. Vendors or street food vendors in India prepare more delicious dishes than restaurants. I ordered fried rice and was given plain white rice, which confused me. Britishers may believe that this is authentic Indian food, but it is far from it. It's terrible. I would never recommend visiting here.
Date visited: 19th December The food was not good quality and was overpriced and my wife found hair in her food, Toilet were wet and not properly cleaned. based on my order: Rice : was overcooked Naan: Looks like they bought from superstorereadymade and just make it hot Daal fry/tadka: plain daal with no tadka Paneer chilly -- paneer mixed with fried chillies, no properly fried et all Please avoid going to this restaurant after reading reviews since I literally felt like vomiting up after eating my lunch.
Food isn’t great at all, very bland, everything needs seasoning, the saag aloo was the worst one I’ve ever had, it was muddy green tinned spinach pulp with bland boiled potatoes with skin on. The service is slow and the old gentleman behind the counter looks so sad and miserable. Also this place is no longer halal for the Muslim customers who usto come here, they previously was however no longer are. The only positive is that it’s fairly cheap & they have a nice selection of Indian sweets.
Usually buy my samosas here as they’re beautiful- today I brought 8 and the man that served me gave me all overcooked greasy ones! Fuming I will make sure that I tell them next time not to give me the rubbish!
Bought moti choor ladoo on Eid day for a relative. When I ate them they were hard and not fresh at all. Felt really embarrassed.
I've been using SSC pretty much since it opened in 1975/76 and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food, their prices and the friendly welcome I always get. Definitely worthy of 5 Stars in my opinion.
Hit & Miss. Sadly not what it used to be. Was always delicious & fresh. Recently the snacks are often stale and tasteless. Great shame
So many negative reviews?! Probably paid reviews from rivals. This place has been around since the 70s or 80s. It's fantastic. Best Indian in town.
