A very interesting & beautiful church in a splendid location. Perfectly located for either a stroll into town or through Rothay park and along the river. The staff in the parish centre next door were very helpful and friendly and toilets and coffee were available.
Beautiful church with a distinctive tall spire that stands out within Ambleside. The churchyard is peaceful and well maintained. Well worth a visit if you're staying nearby.
A very nice church with detailed stained glass windows & a simple interior which is pleasing, not too ornate. A really impressive spire which can be spotted from the many fells around Ambleside.

Such a lovely church. We visited and had a look around last Saturday after our hike. The place felt like home away from home. Peaceful and could feel The Holy Spirit there.
I must have walked past St Mary’s numerous times over the years and barely noticed it. Today though I was drawn in by the sound of gorgeous music being played on the fabulous st Mary’s church organ. I’m far from being a churchy person or an organ music person but hearing and feeling the sound growing as I walked through the door truly moved me. Inside I found a really lovely, warm and peaceful place and whoever the chap was playing an impromptu organ gig on a Monday morning, you made my day ! Fascinating place - I’d also love to know more about the history of the magnificent instrument that captivated me. Definitely take some time to visit if you’re in the Lakes.

Beautiful church
+ Lovely church which blends in perfectly with its surroundings. Like all good churches it has a smashing peal of bells. - The church has had a bit of 're-ordering'. While it's not the worst re-ordering, it's not what you expect in this part of the country.
