The main post office in Chester and there was one member of staff, queue or around 15 people in the horrible, dingy basement. My partner reckons she caught covid queueing for ages down there previously.
If I could give less than one I really would. We all know that royal mail has basically died a death recently but I am amazed at the attitude of it's staff in this store. Clearly they are understaffed so I'll give the lady being the till today that but still? Short tempered and rude, I witnessed her berate an older gentleman who was 'served' before me for asking the same simple question "will this arrive for Christmas" well you'd have though we were asking her to personally carry it there herself the amount of attitude we received. Absolutely appalling
Only two people were working and one of them was working with something else. Fortunately, the queue was not long and was able to get the service promptly
Today I visited the post office and had an amazing experience. The customer service member business was so supportive and helped me with good instructions to safely send the package as it includes a valuable document. Please keep up the good work. The only thing I felt was low number of staff to serve the customers. we had to wait a little bit time to get served which I felt little weird but my overall experience was amazing. Just took 1 star off because of the long Queue.
I went in today and the woman at the counter was snapping at an old guy. He was asking questions and she was completely rude to him throughout his transaction. I use the post office often and every time she is very miserable and cold towards customers. I normally use the self-serve machines but today I had an enquiry so went to the tills instead. Never again will I bother going to a till again if this is how they treat customers. She is clearly not suited for the job as she seems to hate it and hates dealing with customers. She is extremely rude!! Is this the service that Royal Mail want to be giving their customers?
Reminder to patrons: It's not their fault there's a staff shortage. Be kind and courteous to those on shift, just imagine how many snotty customers they have to deal with on a daily basis, I'd be stressed and exhausted to. Hats off to the girls in there, they're always lovely to me and do a great job.
Shocking service every time I visit. Both self serve machines out of service today, no staff around and a queue of 10 deep at least for the counter. As I was in my lunch hour I left & will have to return tomorrow to post a birthday card to Australia Terrible service since the John Street site was closed.
I don’t usually review things like this but this place just does not work!! It’s insane!! Self Service, you have to wait for staff to come & print labels. Staff that are serving people, so 15 min wait or so. No signage where to put parcels once you eventually get to that point. As previously stated staff aren’t particularly helpful. I live in Chester but will not be going here again.
Closing time at 5.30! No one was allowed to buy stamps at the self-service machines at 5.15, I also don't drop off on this side just wanted to buy a poll and the staff shouted and screamed that no one was allowed to use the machines and forced the closing time. Extremely bad attitude, very bad post office! Hope they are having a good time!
The worst Royal Mail post office in the whole country!!!! So many counters close short of staff they said, only 1 or 2 if you are lucky counters open, VERRRRRRRRRY slow service. It been like this for a year and no one try to improve it. I don't know why it such a big difference compared to the Northgate street one with nice friendly staff, efficient, quick service Go to Northgate street that one. Might have just close this post office, useless.
