Went to A&E with a broken wrist and within an hour I’d spoken to a doctor, had x rays and had it treated. At every step of the way I was kept informed, checked on and just really looked after. Every member of staff was polite, confident and did exactly what they said they would do. Really impressed with the quality of my free care. Bless the NHS.
Can not fault this place at all. Visited during the junior doctor strike and best thing I did as I was seen by a proper consultant and the wait time was minimal even though I expected it to be a lot of hours waiting. Was referred the next day and seen again by another consultant and treated the same day. Absolutely amazing thank god for the junior doctors strike you did me a favour.
I have given 5 because I love this hospital and have so much praise for their staff and the wonderful work they do BUT, I must say I am not impress with the staff on Lincoln Wing, Ward J42. They are so unwelcoming. You walk in and not a hello or smile from the staff at the desk. They don't realise what the family is going thru with a sick patient. It's like your not there. They need to go out of healthcare and go do something else away from the sick. Joyce is abrupt, dont know how to be sympathetic and how to talk to the patients family. The tall blonde stern face not friendly at all. As a matter of fact apart from Soumaya who goes beyond her duty to make you feel comfortable, the others needs to go or change attitude. I find Soumaya very caring and seem to enjoy her duty and very thorough. I give her 5+. I wouldnt recommend J42 to anyone if you had a choice to not stay on that ward. Unfortunately we have no say. All we want is a caring team with empathy and to look after your family to the best of their ability They have no empathy. The 5 not for Ward J42. I'd give them 0 if I could.
Waited 7 hours in A&E vomiting in pain, no painkillers given. Eventually told I can come back in 4 days for a scan & pick up pain killers in the morning by the doctor. Nurse was helpful and found me some painkillers however. According to letter given to my GP though, none of that happened. No scan referral, no drugs given, just sent on my way and I'm completely nuts. Thankfully the scan showed it was kidney stones. Please fill in discharge forms correctly for once before you kill someone.
I would rate this 0 star I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the care my father received while under the treatment of Mr. Baker. Following a major operation, my father experienced difficulty breathing and did not receive the appropriate level of care. I am particularly concerned that Mr. Baker provided my father with false hope regarding his condition, when in fact the procedure had been performed incorrectly. This ultimately led to my father's passing away with cardiac arrest, phenomia, post operative illeus, due to improper stitching of the bowel, he was really weak. Furthermore, my father was not promptly admitted to the ICU despite his severe suffering and lack of food intake for three weeks. I am deeply disappointed with the standard of care provided to my father and hope that no other patient will have to endure a similar experience. We as a family are devastated, as we thought the procedure went well and the consultant had told us everything all well, my dad even asked the consultant is everything okay with him and Mr Baker said yes surgery went well was difficult but it's all good, a week later finds out they have stitched my father wrongly near the bowel!!
Referred from a local out of hours doctor, for suspected appendicitis. I came to AnE 9pm 21st of June. I’ve been waiting here 9hrs, been moved to 3 different departments, 3 blood pressure test, 2 paracetamol and still no sign of a scan. The current department I am in, had no record of me even evening seen. Blaming it on people going on breaks. In what world is that an acceptable response to someone/anyone with a potentially serious problem. I don’t want to call out the NHS because it is clearly incredibly under funded but the level of human error I’ve been exposed to in this one visit is absolutely disgusting.
My Grandad was on J47 for roughly 2 weeks on Palliative care and what a wonderful bunch of people the staff were. Massively compassionate and couldn't do enough for us all. Constantly popping their heads in to check on Grandad and to see if we needed anything. We even received a card in the post offering their condolences from the members of staff. NHS staff deserve the world. Big shout out to Faith from the Palliative care team and Charlotte SN absolute angels.
I would like to thank all the staff in the radiology department when I had cause to very recently visit for a MRI scan and an ultrasound guided biopsy. They were all so very friendly, caring and reassuring. Having now started my chemotherapy I have to say that all the staff in the unit have been fantastic - friendly, professional, informative and caring. Many thanks for all concerned and a special mention for George. The treatment areas are pleasant and clean and tidy.
Nice friendly staff , felt comfortable. Credit to every carer out there. An we all care for someone xx
I had an amazing experience with the breast unit during a recent surgery. The staff were so kind and efficient, from the nurses to the consultants. Thank you so much
