Whilst in store Gracechurch Shopping Centr with my beloved pooch at 13.45pm on 23.10.2022, I was approached by the rudest member of staff ever. I was told that dogs are not allowed in the shopping centre and asked to leave. I replied that I was in store a couple of weeks ago and the member of staff I spoke with said pets are allowed. This member of staff is obviously a pet hater and did not care what I was saying. She told me that the other member of staff wad wrong and insisted on us leaving. I am a valuable customer and have spent hundreds of pounds in Sports Direct and this member of staff has just lost the company a good customer. Sports Direct need to have a consistent level of training. Disgusting, Unacceptable treatment of a customer. Shame on you.
Went in for 3 pairs of trainers. Made to feel like we were pestering the staff. One even huffed at me when I asked him to see if they had a particular size. Only came away with 1 pair, and that's only because my daughter loved the pair she found. Wont be returning here again .
Needed some tops as I need to hit my 10,000 steps I day so a trip down to sports direct. the lady that served us on Saturday morning was very pleasant and helpful
AVOID THIS STORE. Issues with faulty Nike trainers, initially spoke to Maria who was lovely, polite and helpful. Once I had found replacement trainers the experience was ruined by the store manager who refused exchange them and refused to give me his name. When he described my issue he described a faulty item, but refused to admit there was a fault so would not exchange them. I requested he send them to Nike for inspection as I believe them to be faulty and he refused. I am now having to complain via their website to now get a refund as I now longer want an exchange and do not want to deal with this company. It was a £48 pair of trainers, yet he is more prepared to have an unhappy customer who no longer wants to deal with Sports Direct than exchange them. Pathetic.
Staff need more training regarding treating customers with respect and courtesy when there's a problem rather than accusing them of "just trying to make excuses" after the customer has flagged up a genuine concern about the safety of one of their products. Also no hint of any apology that the manager had unfortunately supplied me with the wrong football studs. Very disappointing and surprising attitudes in this store.
Much like most other Sports Direct stores I have been into the staff are rude and are in desperate need of learning to deal with customers. I think I'd rather spend more online with £4.99 delivery charge than deal with snotty store assistants who really need to learn how to work with people instead of act as if it's a chore. The store manager was great and very helpful but as for customer service that's it, she either needs to rein in her staff or they all need to go on customer service courses!
DO NOT BUY FROM HERE Asked about the returns policy while buying and was told I could return it within 28 days. Tried to return it only to be told I could only have it in store credit and that it was on signs in store bit of paper taped by cash register and covered by the card machine and on my receipt after I’d bought it. I’d understand if they’d told me when I asked originally or didn’t try to hide the signs I absolutely would not have bought it if I’d known which is why I specifically asked returns when buying but the way they’ve behaved is appalling.
I believe i was in the store at the same time as the customer below Nat. I am truly disappointed that someone can behave the way they did and still play the victim. Yes, they didnt have everything i needed either, however the way she responded to the situation was awful. Upon going to the cash register she was politely asked to stand back slightly due to social distancing, she was rude to the young woman and threw out a racial slur and claimed "you serve us, you work for us customers". So yes, we may pay their wages, but that doesnt mean they can be treated with disrespect. The staff were extremely helpful to me, answered my questions and pointed me in the direction of the nearest store. Thank you to the staff at Sutton Coldfield Sports Direct, and i'm so so sorry to the young lady who was treated poorly by a full grown adult.
Truly appalling customer service in the Sutton Coldfield store yet again. It's unfortunate that there are limited sports shops locally and that I'm forced to return here when things aren't available online. The bald sales assistant clearly isn't happy in his job and his face displays the misery of his disdain that he is working in retail. The young girl behind the till has clearly had her social distancing training and her attitude was completely offensive. I will add that a young bearded lad wearing glasses was helpful to me. I'm not usually a 'Karen' type customer but seriously these people should be grateful that they have jobs and appreciate that customers are paying their wages.
I rarely write reviews for shops, but my experience at this Sports Direct store as opposed to other SD stores, has been surprisingly excellent. I came here to buy a pair of Nike trainers, and the two men in that area were very pleasant and helpful. You can tell they have very good customer service skills. I also want to say a big thank you to the Manager Ben who was very courteous, polite and helpful. Whatever bad reputation other SD stores have, they do not apply to this branch at the Gracechurch Shopping Centre in Sutton Coldfield. You will be respected here, and your queries listened to and answered by knowledgeable and experienced gentlemen and women. Highly recommended.
