First trip to Bolton in 47 years and thus first pint. A really lovely pint from Coach House Brewery. Coachman's Spring Ale. Really refreshing. Excellent choice of ales. Boss having their blueberry beer which is exceptional. Nice building and lovely staff. Only Spoons snobs would complain.
Food is wonderful and very fast, and if you use the app, it's even faster. It's always a great night when we go in
Had the empire burger which was the managers special complete with onion rings and chips. Great value! 2×empire burgers and 2 pints for £12.40 # winning!
If you've ever been to a spoons before, you'll know what to expect. Pretty standard with a 3 mile trek to the toilets given they largely cater to old bitter drinkers, I'm amazed they don't get more stair based fatalities. It was refurbished not long ago, although I can't tell what they did. Staff seemed polite. Service was quick. Food was largely decent, the beans were a little odd. Prices aren't quite as good as they were. The haggis was passable, the black pudding a bit over done, toast was cold but the rest was tasty and warm.
Having been in exile in Spain for over 12 months the main thing we missed was Weatherspoons, its nice to be back and food, drink and prices are very much the same as before we went to Spain. The Spinning Mule has recently been refurbished and is looking very good, thankfully they have got rid of those depressing black & white pictures which did nothing for the atmosphere. Were do they get the staff, they are totally amazing, so polite and helpful, give the staff 5 stars.
Used the Spinning Mule for breakfast on 2 occasions. The menu was very varied and my daughter and I settled on porridge and fruit plus copious coffee. All very good but strange to be breakfasting at 0830 with folks on adjacent tables drinking pints of bear. It takes all kinds....
Typical Wetherspoons, looking out over a greened square. Excellent selection of real ales. Three of us ordered fish and chips pretty good and one the beef Madras, described as better than ever. Plenty of room, swift polite service.
Absolutely disgusting.. never have I been treated like this in any Astablishment ... pre ordered a table ... then told couldn't get a Christmas dinner for half the group ... no apology just treated with the up most disrespect from Chelsea. She didn't just disrespect our deaf members but tried to tell us lies in front of a group of people. Personally I don't think someone with such a complex should work with the public. Never have we ever come across such a nasty , horrible, disgusting human being. We would never recommend this place to our vulnerable are disabled members . Please choose some better staff .
Ate here alone during business trip. The male staff who served me first class. Very friendly always asking if food was ok. Also dealt really well with a group of teens who were trying to damage gambling machines behind me. First class.
Ordered burger and chips. SEVEN warm chips and a cold overcooked burger that was smaller than a McDonalds children's burger in a happy meal.. NEVER AGAIN !!! disgusted.
