Beware they will overcharge you! Have enjoyed many evenings in Barristers previously I am sad to say that after my visit on 20/11/22 I will not be returning. Barristers have various drinks offers playing on a screen above the bar, but when you try and purchase the drinks on offer the bar staff pretend not to know anything about it and overcharge you. I bought 2 bottles of house wine that should have been £12.50 each on their offer but each time I was charged £14. On the third time they tried to charge me £14.90 to which I told the sheepish looking bar man that he had been overcharging me and I wanted my money back. He tried to blag me a third time until he finally said he knew about the deal but couldn’t change the price on the till so that’s why I had been overcharged - nonsense. I then asked to speak to a manager who came over with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp and denied any knowledge of the deal. Myself, 2 bar staff and the manager then proceeded to stand there and watch the drinks offers play through on the screen until the offer of house wine for £12.50 on Saturdays until 10pm showed. All the while they stood there and went back to accusing me of making it up. They all knew the deal was there but none of them wanted to honour it and would rather accuse customers of lying. Once the deal showed on the screen the manager and bar staff reluctantly admitted they had been overcharging me and without any apology proceeded to charge me the correct price and refunded me the difference for only one of the times I had been overcharged. Garbage service, horrendously rude staff and I certainly won’t be back. You can guarantee that if they were doing this to me they were undoubtedly overcharging other customers as well. To Barristers: I suggest in future you don't attempt to rip your customers off and then proceed to treat them like dirt when they call you out on it.
Great staff, amazing great fun karaoke, always a joy
Great place, good selection of drinks, friendliest staff in town and a terrific atmosphere. Also has the best karaoke in town 7 nights a week.
So expensive for what it is £4.20 a pint it’s a local pub other nearby are a lot less

We used to come here from Carnforth and it was really reasonable in price!We would have at least 4 rounds but now even with camra discount we just have one cos the price has shot up so much we as pensioners cannot afford it! I know its 2 20 a pint on different days but we can't get there on those days!Why is this?
Had a good afternoon listening to Vogue and Vince Hughes. Great waiter service. Drinks were not to badly priced. Roll on going back inside Swan. To many smokers in courtyard.
