I popped into this store looking for some frames but my visit never lasted long as the shop was dirty, grimy and dusty. When I touched the frames and shelves they were filthy and I felt sick . Staff just standing around using their mobiles when they could have been tidying the shop. Even the staff member greeting customers wore her gloves and face mask…. Very grimy in store - avoid to keep your health.
My favourite opticians by a country mile. I have frequented this branch and it's much smaller predecessor that was located on Corporation Street in 2000. Some of the original staff are still here. I like the integrity of the company and the staff are generally fantastic. I used to go to their only real rival that begins with a B. However I didn't like their offerings nor their price hikes in the late 90's. I have had a few issues during this tenure however these have been amicable resolved and this is, indeed, expected during a two decade period. I have enjoyed visiting this branch and l have had no hesitation in handing over my money as l felt it was beneficial to me and my eye health. They have an extensive range of glasses and also contact lenses. Their eye tests are honest and thorough. I would wholeheartedly recommend this HUGE branch that is in what used to be OLYMPUS sports back in the early to mid 90's. On that note, over and out.
The customer and test services are really good but the frames range is not enough compared to budget. I wish I could get a cateye frame in my budget that suited my face but had no luck. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the care there.
Very good, Opticians. Used the company for many years. It's easy to make appointments, too. The staff is helpful and friendly . No hard sell here. You are given plenty of time to choose your glasses without any pressure . Also told of any deals available. With plenty of Opticians in the store, there's always an opportunity for a second opinion if you need one. Glasses are normally processed within one or 2 days.
This review is based on my experience at Specsavers New Street. My partner had an eye test early in January and purchased 2 pairs of Jeff Banks glasses. At first he was unsure of the glasses as they did not seem to feel or fit right on collection. He was told to use them as he probably just needs to get used to them apart from new lenses he had previously had the same style of glasses on his last prescription. We left the store very unsure and I noticed that the glasses did not appear to sit right on his face. He was under the impression that he would just have to get used to them, but after a couple of months we decided to return to Specsavers New Street to see what could be done. A bit weary of going today however when we got to the store we walked up to the counter and 2 members of staff were present, unfortunately when explaining the situation to the staff the initial response from one member was a little ‘unhelpful’. Fortunately the second member of staff - Junior using very good customer service skills preceded to engage with us and took charge of assisting. I can honestly say Junior you are an asset to Specsavers your customer service skills are outstanding. Thank you for your time and effort in resolving the issue and coming to a satisfactory resolution. Your care and attention to detail is commendable and your colleagues should take a leaf out of your book. We have left the store today a lot happier than when we arrived. Management please pass on our complements to Junior 5* customer service.
Went to collect specs for myself and my mum and was assisted by TORSVictoria what a wonderful member of your team. So obliging, made sure the fits were perfect before we left and super friendly. Please ensure Tors gets our grateful thanks as she epitomises Customer service to a tee. Thank you Tors
I had to go here a few days ago for my eye test. They had three people at the reception who were disinterested, miserable and could not be bothered to offer any personal customer service. I have been going to Specsavers for 30 years across the UK. It is probably time to change I waited one hour to get my eye test. I did talk to them after about 40 minutes. They were not serving anyone. As I said three people were at reception but they still were not interested. I finally got to speak to the manager and she was extremely helpful and apologised. I have to say Specsavers the service I received was unacceptable. I have been involved in customer service for 50 years so I do have some experience and the greetings the three staff gave, which I could see from where I was sitting for nearly 1 hour was unacceptable, and to be quite honest, shocking. One very disappointed, loyal customer of 30 years. You have my email address, please direct message me there.

Came in for a collection and adjustment and Khadiza was absolutely amazing ! She made me feel so comfortable and made sure to keep going back until I was happy with the adjustment! Thank you so much your customer service was immaculate
This is probably one of the worst specsavers I’ve ever been too and would not be going again. Firstly I had this rude person called usman who checked my eyes who was very rude and rushing the whole process and when I did say this to him and said my local branch is more professional he goes ‘why didn’t you go there why did you come here for’ the attitude on this person was utterly unprofessional sooo I walked out and told this to reception. I told them I would like a someone else to check eyes as explained my situation and they provide me with someone else but it wasted soo much of my time. I also brought my voucher from work for my free eye test which they lost…very unprofessional, rude and definitely don’t recommend
