This is an excellent medical facility. Modern & comfortable building, large open-plan waiting area, excellent staff, free car parking. If you are driving and using SatNav, they recommend using the Postcode TA13 5AR.
I’m absolutely disgusted with this hospital discharging my mother without disclosing she has a health condition that has now literally tipped hers, and my life upside down. This was on her discharge notes, but nothing was said to us before she left. I would never have allowed her to come home with such a difficult condition, that hadn’t been looked into, checked out, had any kind of investigation or any treatment tried. They didn’t return my call the day after her discharge, when this had become very apparent, and we’d also had to call 999. When I finally rang them after 6 days, they weren’t in the least bit interested, and just told me to go through PALS, they were too busy to talk to me about it. She fell out of a chair there within days of arriving, and we weren’t told. I found out when the physios went to put her in the chair the next time I was there, and she was scared to be put in it, and told them to be careful because she’d been left and fallen out of it. She got an infection in her foot that wasn’t dealt with, so became a real worry, and had her own food taken away from her and told she couldn’t have it. I watched in complete horror as 2 senior staff, and 2 solicitors stood over the other lady in mums room, telling her she couldn’t stay there, asking her if she was over the financial limit, and telling her she needed to find somewhere to go. If your vulnerable family member is in here, has to self fund, please be extremely cautious and vigilant because the divide between self funding and getting it all put in place, and paid for, and not getting any help whatsoever is huge, and bordering on dangerous. We will of course be taking it all further.
A very professionally run hospital.nThe staff are delightful and helpful.nIf you are visiting for a day, take some food in a cool box as there is no canteen.nnThere is a snack machine and coffee machine in the foyer but it's not cheap.nTake £10 in change.
A very good visit today! What a wonderful facility. Well organised, clean, looks to be well equipped, and appointment ran to schedule. Staff very courteous, thorough and professional. NHS service at its best. Huge thanks to all at the hospital! Your skill and dedication are greatly appreciated.
Several visits here for a Covid trial and recently for ultrasound appts.nBest NHS experience on each occasion: calm, efficient and caring staff... Excellent architecture and surroundings too.
