We were very lucky to get a table here on a busy Sunday lunchtime. The staff were very accommodating for 2 adults and a young child. We had the roast dinners which were absolutely delicious! Very generous with the sides and gravy portion. We also shared a dessert which was great too! Would highly recommend : Kid-friendliness: Very friendly staff and offered us a space to store our pushchair.
Wonderful restaurant. Very friendly staff. Good choice of food. According to history at the back of the menu, it is built from salvaged timber from the Armada. There's even a wheel from a ship on the ceiling. Narrow stairs, low ceilings all add to the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.
The place itself is nice, cozy and full of history. The food is not bad but too simple and old at times. The mussels and scallops as starters were really nice but as shown on the pictures the little salad next to the scallops was wilted and with no real meaning. The beef medallions were nice but nothing special, a staple but a bit overcooked. The seabass was fresh but the roasted tomatoes next to it were cold. Along those two mains we've also received some fried chunky chips that were too brown and soaked in oil, new potatoes in butter that were nice, and a selection of three veggies just blanched like it was 1950. Cute experience inside but the food doesn't reflect the high prices.
The restaurant is in a lovely setting, the food is amazing and very friendly staff. Very cute inside and well preserved place. You'll have to visit and see for yourself. I definitely would recommend. Very good prices for the roast, We had to book the table in advance by phone, which was hustle free. I can't complain
Arguably the best restaurant in Looe. Quality food presented well. The two servers we had were also great, we me and my Mrs never had to call them over for anything and we were greeted with a smile when we arrived. Some reviews saying this restaurant is expensive, what people need to understand is this is not a chain pub/restaurant, it serves quality fresh well cook and presented food. If you want cheap go to nandos. We both had 3 courses I had the most expensive meal on the menu and 3 alcoholic drinks each and the bill was £101 which I think for the quality is reasonable. Very good experience, we will be coming back.
Have had a few wonderful meals at the Smugglers Cott in Looe. This particular meal was a month ago April 2022, and was excellent! I bought my visiting parents to Smugglers, and they loved it! Between us we had a mixture of different meals, but the Shellfish Medley and the Scallops went down particularly well! We had the whole downstairs to ourself and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend the Smugglers Cott to anyone looking for an honest meal out in Looe. Will be back soon, I’m sure. Thanks.
Yes, yes and yes what a place for food and to spend time with friends. Starters great, Mains super, Staff so polite and helpful as we had gluten free friend with us and the made sure they were catered for. If you are looking for some special place to eat in Looe then look no further. Thanks for our evening with you
Visited this evening, excellent food and friendly staff, good selection of drinks. The Tipsy Pork was beautifully cooked and both steaks we're cooked to perfection. We will certainly be back.
Amazing food. They know how to cook the steak how you would like it. Top marks. See you next year
Excellent restaurant that you really must visit, they serve fantastic food with steaks and local seafood as well as their well known carvery. The decor inside is inkeeping and traditional but makes it absolutely charming, the seating downstairs is cosy and staff cant do enough to make sure everything is perfect for you.
