I recently attended a 2 day Sourdough Workshop at the bakery. The visit came about after a chance conversation with Kimberly (the owner). She infected me with her enthusiasm for local and sustainably produced good food. I’m not a ‘foodie’ but there was something that rang true in how Kim spoke and the idea of making one’s own bread that persuaded me to give it a go. The course was nutritionally brilliant on both a physical and emotional level. Kim and her team, Laura and Sarah have a much deeper purpose than just producing food. The lengths they go to to make sure their products match the values they preach are amazing and truly refreshing in a world where the hyperbole so rarely meets reality. Kim spoke at length about the two way relationships she has with the farmers who grow her crops and the millers who grind the flower. She is actively involved at each stage of the process with concern for the best product and result for the people involved. She has depth of knowledge, humility and willingness to share that I only ever see in people who truly aim to serve a purpose bigger than themselves. The experience has changed the way I look at food. I am brought to mind of how revolutions start from the bottom. The small food bakery is more than a bakery it might even be flourishing seeds of the sustainable food revolution.

The best sourdough in Nottingham without a doubt. Sweet or savory, all locally sourced and always with a friendly welcome. If only I could award six stars!

Absolutely fabulous food in this small bakery and cafe. As well as staples like their Radford Wild sourdough bread, they have seasonal specials like wild garlic an cheese. Also delicious cakes and local produce.
