Really enjoyed our stay at Silver Craigs. Site is immaculate. Toilets are spotless with great showers. Right next to the woods for dog walks. 5 minute walk into the town which is lovely with lots of nice wee shops. Very friendly people too. J Hall the butchers is well worth a visit if you’re planning a barbecue, and they have the best Scotch pies ever! We will definitely be back to this site, and recommend it to everyone. 10/10.
Lovely location. Short walk into town. Toilets and showers were spotless. Pitches are great and a good size. When booking you get tochoose your pitch and are given details of pitch size. Will definitely be back.
Nicely situated site overlooking the town, good, clean facilities. Easy, short walk into town. Community run i believe so very hit and miss if you see any staff, out of season Have to book on line at the gate which is not very straightforward for everyone. An elderly couple were stuck outside trying to work out how to book in for almost an hour. Poor lady was really struggling I did help her but she was very upset by it all.
Lovely peaceful site, overlooking Kirdkudbright. All facilities on the site are well placed for ease of use, and clean and well maintained. Male and female shower blocks and disabled facilities, all clean and well looked after. Lovely views across rooftops of Kirdkudbright to the hills beyond. You can walk down to the town in a matter of minutes. Immediate access from behind the site to woodland and extensive walks .
Very clean, quaint site on top of the hill run by the council. Nice view and quiet. Sat nav tries to take you down a single lane track, use common sense and don't go that way and go back round. Dog friendly, right next to a park and a short walk to local shops. Quite the old persons village but pretty
So close to the town. All admin from booking, pitch selection, payment of deposit and final payment all done electronically made everything so easy. Clean facilities and barrier protected entrance.
We stayed for 3 nights in our campervan with awning. The site was very clean and the staff were helpful & friendly. Please ty of room between the pitches and the toilets were clean well maintained. We will definitely be returning for another stay. Thanks Dog-friendliness: There was no additional cost for pets and plenty of walks next to the site for them.
Lovely little campsite with good facilities and only 5 minutes walk from Kirkcudbright shops. Only thing wrong the ground is pretty hard to drive tent pegs into if your camping or trying to pitch an awning. Hard ground pegs are advised for this site
Excellent site, facilities, toilets and showers superior to the caravan club. Need to pay a deposit and pay the rest the week before and all information arrives by email. 5 mins into the town. Go to the information centre and get a small map, lots of museums and some good walking.
Been going here twice a year for over 10 years now. Always thoroughly enjoyed it. This time? Not so much. On the day we arrived, the sound of screaming had several people run out of their caravans - me included. Somebody sounded in agony. It was my child! Me and 3 other mums rushed over to investigate. Short version: my son was covered in wasp stings.... over 10. He was stung everywhere from the waist up. They got under his t shirt- in his hair... everywhere. He had gone up to the toilet block with his sister. She went in ladies, he went in gents. They put their bikes on the path at the back so that they wouldn't be in anyone's way. My son started screaming as he grabbed the handlebars of his bike and his sister grabbed him and dragged him back. She said there was a swarm of wasps around him. She was stung 4 times. After dealing with stings and keeping my eye on my son for a while - he had a lot of swelling, we went to investigate. A wasps nest was not even 2 feet away from the shower block!! Informed management. NOTHING was done. The wasp nest remains within 2 feet of the shower block. People walk past wasps nests without incident every day. I just pray that the next person these ones attack isn't either a smaller child... or allergic to wasp stings.... your epipen won't do any good in these circumstances.
