We ate here twice, but really it feels like a pub for locals. The service was very friendly and efficient, even when super-busy on our second visit. The tables were cleaned between customers. The food portions were generous way more than I could eat! and they arrived at the table nicely hot. The pub is in two sections for food. First visit was on the left, a smart area with comfy seats that looks like it was recently renovated. The ceiling is fairly high, so it was never too noisy. We asked if we could eat there when we booked for the following night, but they were either too busy or else forgot. The other area is kind of the opposite of everything above!!
My friend and I popped in here for a bite to eat today, a Monday lunch time. They offered several meals on a lunch menu for £5 each. Not long after we ordered, our food was brought out nice and hot. My friend had egg, chips and beans, I had pie chips and peas. Pretty good value these days. Can't beat it.
Been quite a few times in the past, and quite a few times on boxing day. But this year was different, we booked in advance like we always do as there are normally carols on in the pub, but this year due to restrictions they were cancelled which was not a problem at all. We sat at our table and ordered our food, my other half’s main was wrong, which they did offer to change and did apologise for, but having 2 kids as well,and trying to get everyone eating at the same time, we said no it was fine. Even though we highlighted the problem, they still charged us full price for the wrong main meal. It may seam petty, but it does make a difference. Really disappointed as we love the location of this pub and have never had a problem before
Tasty food, great price for the Sunday roast, nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended. During summer the outside sitting area must be amazing!

My wife and I had Christmas festive menu today. Absolutely superb. Vegetable soup was delicious and hot and the turkey dinner was brilliant. Large portions, piping hot, very reasonable price, cosy warm environment on a cold frosty day and very friendly attentive staff. All in all can’t fault anything at all. Fully recommended.
Absolutely fabulous service. I had carvery and my husband had food off the main menu. I asked for the beef end that was going to waste for my dogs the chef at the carvery was so nice and gave me a box of meat along with the end piece and said I hope they enjoy all this. All staff are so friendly and welcoming. Higy recommended thank you
The food was delicious. Although a nice salad range would have been great none at all on evening, weekend menu. Massive portions and great service. Would highly recommend.
Staff are very friendly and so well organised the food is upmarket pub grub and very nice .allso great value for money. The out side area is great for kids and dogs lovely walks in surrounding area
