Pretty poor by comparison to lots of other places. I've been to many. Bland and tasteless. I had chicken shislak which i dont think had seen a tandoori oven. No skewer holes in the meat. Veg curry side dish. Potatoes in it were rock hard and again bland and tasteless. My two friends had prawn balti. Again bland and tasteless. They both sent theirs back but it was no better when returned, just had a few more prawns. Expensive £164 for 6 of us. We refused to pay for the prawn balti and it was deducted from the bill. I wouldn't waste your money. There are far better places.

The food at Sheesh Mahal Banbury is leagues above any other Indian restaurant I've eaten at. Authentic Indian cuisine without any bright colour additives! The restaurant has recently has a full overhaul and provides a stunning environment to enjoy your dining experience. The restaurant owner, Khalid, makes you feel very welcome and provides a personal touch. Overall, I'd highly recommend The Sheesh Mahal if you're looking for the best Indian restaurant in Banbury.
