Story

The Old Auctioneer is the third oldest building in Banbury surviving the great fire of 1628 and has a wonderful character and history. The building has been completely renovated and is now open with a food and drink offering to match the pedigree of the premises.

Great pub in the heart of Banbury. Spent many hours here on a lunch hour eating the massive pile of chicken wings with the awesome sauce or taking advantage of the meal deals for two. Food is reasonably priced even if you don't go for a deal. Decor is good with covered outdoor seating. Coffee is good. Amenities are OK.

Food and service very good. Booked a table for 7 well in advanced, only to be told on arrival that our round table requested had been double booked. We were shunted upstairs to a table that was only fit for 5!!! I am disabled so the stairs were a problem. (Which were also advised) The poor customer service was very disappointing.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, great food offers, nice food too. The only thing to let it down is the lack of plates!! Didn't ask mum, but both my father and I really don't get it at all or enjoy eating off wooden chopping boards!!

Nice hidden little surprise. Looks okay outside, looks great inside. Lots of seating choice; benches, hard seats and soft - Great to have a good variety. Food was excellent. We went to a 4 star place the day before, and it didn't taste as good as this place. Made to feel very welcome. Will definitely remember this place.
