Absolutely great place if you are wanting to watch sport, play pool, darts or beer pong! A group of 8 of us came here on Saturday 14th August for a stag do, we spent half a day knocking back skittle shots, playing pool, drinking beer, playing beer pong and having a jolly old time! Service was very good, although slower when the main football matches were on 3 - 4 people were serving which wasn't sufficient. We reserved a pool table but not seating, the team were very accommodating with tables that were reserved and let us know when they were booked for so we could use them Fantastic. This would have been a five star review if it wasn't for the food...! On paper the website & menu book the food looked great and a good selection... We were told that there would be a wait for the food... there was 8 of us and a fairly large order.... But no, this was because once the orders are placed they are ordered externally via Just eat! Unbelievable, disgraceful were words used by other members of the stag Party Ryan & Daryl. In summary, great place for sport, pool etc... And a great atmosphere for a large group. Would highly recommend for a big group party. We were just really surprised & disappointed about the food situation.
Hadn't visited for about 5/6 years. The bar is much longer now and in the middle. There is now beer pong, table tennis where the old bar used to be in the corner, there's also an electronic punch ball machine for flexing the biceps on. Tables and cues are in fair condition. Definitely felt more cramped in there though. Constantly having to check behind you so not to bump into other players, this never used to happen. Great place for meet ups and fun. Very busy so definitely book your table if you want to play on a table. Staff are very young and not particularly switch on polite or efficient. The bar man didn't understand what a half of a pint was, he had to ask another member of staff what my partner meant after starting to pour a pint. Management you need to definitely sort the training out if you're throwing inexperienced staff in the deep end like that please, we felt sorry for the lad as he'd obviously had zero input from you! Loud, lively and a lot of fun. Plenty of seating , upbeat tunes and sports screens line the top of every wall. I think we paid just over £27 for a two hour table session. You'll need to leave the bar staff with a bank card, driving ID or £20 deposit. I'd recommend the £20 deposit as management don't seem to train the staff properly and not sure if they'd understand data protect. I recommend this place though if you want a good time for a few hours in a crowd or not. Very happy to see the security on the doors as I'm sure they need them after 8pm.
Great Pool and sports bar, very busy on night we visited but service was quick. Advise to book in advance for pool tables on weekends and evenings. Good selection of Alcoholic drinks and all sports shown on the largest amount of screens I have ever seen in a bar
Used to love Sharkeys. However, we went there for my sons birthday. We booked 2 tables which we almost immediately surrounded by about 30 teenagers who looked between 12 and 15. They sat with their backs to the tables, so every time you wanted to take a shot, you had to first of all get their attention, then get them to move, then take your shot which then got sarcastic comments if you missed. This all meant each shot took about 2 minutes so it was not very enjoyable at all. We will give it another go at some point, but if it is the same, it will come off our list of things to do in Bournemouth.
Perfect place to watch sports. The bar is lovely, the food was great for the price. Want to shout out to Dan as he was fantastic and made our weekend away that but more special and his customer service is second to none. Thank you again Dan.
Staff is rude. Booked a table over the phone when i got there table was given away. Place stinks of old alcohol, glasses are dirty. Also overcrowded impossible to play people all over the place. They let more people in then they can handle! You can wait for 20mins to get your pint! Worst place ever! Don’t waste your time and money as you will get disappointed. Been few times never ever coming back! Also there is a lot of mold in toilet room. No lock on the door no privacy.. it is disgusting Floor are always sticky not to mention guy sitting in the toilet and watching you while you do your nature things.. avoid this place at any cost!
Everything about the place is great except for some of the staff, never had such disrespect from customer service before, I believe the guy was called jack. Would recommend the Southampton venue instead!!
It's great to have this pool bar in central Bournemouth. It can be a bit rowdy. Good music and the prices, although not the best, are also not the worst! Local parking can be a bit of a nightmare, so it's probably best to get a taxi there!
I love Sharkeys…. My main place to go in Bournemouth purely because the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Dave, Fabio, Haydn and Dan always make you feel welcome. Great pool tables and amazing choice of beer!
Wow, why aren't there more places like this in the UK. Great watching lots of games on different screens. The staff were really really helpful in accommodating me and my family to watch The Arsenal in a VIP room. They even managed to get a pool table for us. Shame the UK doesn't show more football games at the same time. Thanks to the staff for looking after us.
