If I could give 0 stars, I would. They stole my money and won't refund it. This takeaway is closed Tuesdays. Nowhere on its website or Google does it say this. I ordered £50 worth of food, and no delivery. I drove to the restaurant after several unsuccessful calls to find it was closed. There was a note on the door to say 'As of September, we will be closed Tuesday'. This was in August... I phoned them the next day, and they said the order wasn't accepted and I shouldn't have been charged. I requested a refund, but they declined. They were extremely rude. I phoned the payment platform DatMan and explained the situation. I had to provide bank statements to show the transaction, and they told me a refund had been actioned. Ten days later, no refund, and they are now telling me I need to provide bank statements. AVOID at all costs!
I don't like giving a bad review but unfortunatly dissapointingly average. Sag panner: not indian cubed cheese but melted cheese slices! terrible. Tough old tasting chicken in the good kurma sauce. Small nan bread with very little peshwari in it, more like a plain nan. Possibly reheated onion bhaji as they were not crisp but rubbery and falling apart. Average pilau rice more like plain rice lacking in flavour. The tarka dal was the only dish that didnt dissapoint. We are guessing that the main chef is on holiday? or a different chef as other reviews were good but right now, avoid!
Just had another Indian from SS! Amazeballs, best ever Indian. Time after time. NO 1 Indian in Blackpool.
Not had a meal from Shapla for a while. This was our favourite take away for many years. Ordered a meal tonight and was very disappointed, standards have certainly slipped! 2 tandoori meals, no mint sauce with them, only one salad, should have been 2. Poppadom was just like the ones I buy from Aldi, used to be massive from Shapla and the chicken tokra was very dry, overcooked. Tandoori grill was much smaller than it used to be, and the chicken didn't look too healthy. Was not like this when Taf was there, bring him back!!!!
Have used Shapla a couple of times now and found them to be excellent quality and consitent. I collect the order and noticed that the shop and kitchen are very clean and modern. Lots of staff and they know what they are doing. Everything was double checked for my order. Food quality is so fresh and of restaurant standard. Hygene rating is 5*. One of the best takeaways in the area.
I've tried every Indian takeaway and every Indian restaurant in Blackpool, St Anne's and Lytham. I could eat Indian food for every meal of the day. Shapla Spice has been my go to place for over 10 years. I sometimes try other places just for a change but I always come back to Shapla, it's the only place that can make a very spicy curry without giving me stomach ache the next day, I don't know how they do it but I imagine it is to do with the care they put into making their food. Try the food, you won't be disappointed but be patient for delivery because they get very very busy.
Really nice food - we like masala dishes and this place is one of the best! Friendly staff, especially the delivery driver T.
This is the best Indian takeaway in Blackpool. The food is always cooked fresh for each order and they use proper ingredients not this pre-packed cubed stuff. Never had a bad curry or delivery from here. Sometimes it can take bit longer than initially stated but that is rarely and if does then it's at the weekend when it's at it's busiest. This is acceptable as it's worth the wait. The staff are always friendly in the shop as well as the delivery driver's.
Ive tasted two good currys from there fantastic service. Lovely delivery driver... From brummy pauls.. Mate.. Lol paul was right simply delicious and was delivered hot worth a treat
Just had beautiful take away that Danielle ordered for us. Tender lamb in curry. Soft chicken 100%recomend it Denise & Paul
