Shaftesbury Theatre Dawlish, our primary aim to provide amateur dramatics to the local community.

Story

The Shaftesbury Theatre Dawlish is the home to Dawlish Repertory Company, who own, run and maintain the theatre. The company produces five productions a year including a pantomime; we also host external companies and performers who use our wonderful facilities to entertain the local community.

I have just seen Educating Rita at the theatre, Dawlish. It was an exceptional performance by both actors, the scenery and costumes were excellent. Ticket office staff, bar staff and all helping staff, volunteers I understand, we're incredibly friendly and helpful. A great evening.
Great little theatre, puts on films, shows and activities. Used by the local 'Amdram' community for an ongoing succession of plays and shows. Definitely an important part of the Dawlish community - if you're visiting the area give it a go.

October 23. 5 -7 The Cripple of inishmanan 25 - 28 FROZEN JR MUSICAL 5 - 13 JANUARY 24 MOTHER GUSE. NEW PICTURES Might be small about 147 seats but Boy, what a show they can give. NOW ON. ROUND & ROUND THE ROUNDABOUT 30th APRIL 4th MAY Just have to GO. Please try for yourself, There is a nice little Bar for Before and Half Time Drinks and Afters so get your order in before you go into the play.
Visited on open day 2nd October 2021. Was shown all around the theatre, granson 6, loved the control room. They put on 6 shows a year and 1 film a month. It is staffed by volunteers. I would recommend a visit.

Went to see "The Edge of Darkness" theatre performance tonight and it was wonderful. The staff going into the performance were just lovely and so helpful. The performance itself was brilliant, the actors and actresses played their characters perfectly, they were all magnificent. I thought the actress playing Laura was amazing . Loved the plot, definitely some good twists and also a lot of fun too. Everyone involved should be incredibly proud of themselves! Bravo!
Called in to book tickets for a play by Dawlish repertory company which will be our first visit. A very helpful,friendly lady showed us around and helped us to choose seats. Duly booked and I think we will be back for future shows.
