"Dawlish Town Council came into being in 1974. There are three wards and sixteen Councillors who stand for re-election every four years. The next scheduled elections are due to take place on 2 May 2019. The Town has a Mayor and Deputy Mayor elected from and by the membership of the Town Council.The wards are:North East - covering an area from the eastern side of the Town to Cockwood;Central - covering the area of the Town Centre;South West - covering an area from the western side of the Town, including Holcombe, to the boundary with Teignmouth.Dawlish is represented at District Council level by five Councillors.
