Excellent spot for accessing the Cannock Chase, lots of good circular walks can be done from here. Popular place for hikers, dog walkers and bikers, it can get busy at weekends but it's free to park. There is an open area with some picnic benches not far in. A brilliant alternative to parking at the visitor center.
Grew up nearby so riding our horses on and around was a very regular occurrence. Was so lovely to come back after many years away, and show my daughter how special a place this is.
First visit to this part of Cannock Chase, great walk with well made paths, not signposted so you need to have an idea of where you are going. We did about a four mile circuit.
Cannock Chase hike and drive!! nice quiet parking spot.
Lovely enclosed area of Cannock Chase that is used by ramblers, bikers and families alike. The dogs love it!
Great little carpark to explore Cannock Chase, you can get to Polish War Memorial, CWWG Pye Green, the German War Memorial, and easy access to Springslade Cafe. I'm aways impressed with how well CWWG sites are managed and maintained. Always to high standards which is good to see.
Beautiful place to go with your kids or dogs. Amazing in nice weather but best avoided if it's been or is raining, unless you don't mind getting all muddy. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of going here and glad it's still as nice, so I could take my kid and dog. Definitely recommend for a nice day out.
It is perfect starting point for a walk or bicycle. No fees. On Saturady I had enough speace to park my car. In the middle of the nearby meadow is bench. Unfortunately it is not good pleace for a picnic/long stay pleace, because you can here non stop gun shots saund. The road 200 miters is very narrow and with poor tarmac.
Great place to walk your dog, cyclist and horses also use this car park. Several different walking routes you can take..plus if your dog likes water the spring is great for them to padle.
