Really enjoyed the food at Colosseo, tasted really fresh and authentic, good portion sizes and good value overall. I would definitely come back here for their pasta again and to try the gnocchi next time! Nothing glam, just yummy Italian food and good service service too.
Exceptional! Authentic, tasty and fresh Italian food. The hospitality is so very welcoming too. Just sad that we are holidaying and don’t live locally. Have nothing but positive feedback for this fab, fab, fab restaurant!
Billy - you never fail to deliver. Your food is phenomenal. Tastes so delicious and the presentation is just as perfect. We visited this evening to celebrate mums birthday. The effort you put in to make people feel welcome and special is unreal. The birthday music and the birthday song sang by all present added that extra special moment. All guests are greeted as soon as they enter the cosy restaurant and many are known to you by name as returning customers. We have eaten at your restaurant on many occasions now and we shall continue to visit to celebrate our special occasions. Colosseo’s is by far our favourite Italian restaurant. Thank you and your staff for continuing your hard work, delivering magnificent food in a warm, cosy friendly atmosphere. If I could give you more stars then I would. For those of you thinking of trying this restaurant for the first time, all I can say is it won’t be your last , you will not be disappointed and like me, I am sure it will become your favourite Italian dining experience.
The staff and management went over and above to make us feel welcome! We had a 16 year old birthday family meal with 8 of us. Everyone said their food was delicious ,home made fresh and lovely to look at. We felt really relaxed there . We will return!
Last night I visited Colosseo for my third time and the experience was as fantastic as the first. This family run restaurant is not just authentic Italian food, but such a friendly place to be- reminding me of stepping into Italy! Billy the owner takes time and pride in chatting to customers to make them feel like valued friends, it felt like we were all part of the same family. The other two waiters were efficient and attentive-making us feel valued and positive. I love the menu- SO much choice! Gorgonzola Gnocchi was imaginatively served inside a homemade bread ‘boat’ and my partner’s meat balls were seasoned to perfection made with proper meaty beef, again beautifully presented! If you haven’t visited this little gem yet- do! It’s a slice of Italy in west Hove.
So pleased to have found this lovely Italian. Service was impeccable and friendly staff made the evening a real joy. Took our autistic son for his birthday and he can struggle sometimes in noisy environments. However, the waiter really connected with him and made sure he was having a good time. Highlight of the night was everyone getting a happy birthday song. My teenage son was too cool for school and said 'they are not doing that for me'. Could we get him to leave before he had his song though? Absolutely no way! Would definitely recommend for good food, great service and lovely atmosphere.
My partner and I, our 13 yr old daughter & her friend ate here for dinner after a disastrous lunch at Jamie's Italian nearby. I have read other reviews & yes this restaurant is small & is in need of a little TLC but while we were there which was a Tuesday evening it was busy with a nice relaxed feel. The fact that it's decor is a little 'dated' gives it a more 'rustic' feel. The food was nice, the tempura prawns were delicious. My partner had gnocchi & the kids had pizzas. This is not a fancy upmarket restaurant and I am sure that there are far 'nicer' places to eat in Brighton but if you are looking for a relaxed place to eat with the kids, that serves nice food at reasonable prices, with friendly staff & a friendly atmosphere, then this restaurant ticks all of those boxes.
My partner’s favourite italian resto. Tasty food and quick service. Parking bit hard since its near hove area. Very accommodating staff. Just make sure to book reservation on busy days fri and satrudays Parking: Location wise, its hard to look for parking
Amazing experience!! Manager is amazing and super attentive, his staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was incredible. This place is an independent with fresh produce made there and then by the chef. Nothing is to much hassle for these lovely people. Best Italian in Brighton/Hove area
It was fantastic, I went for a party and they were all lovely, especially the manager. We brought our own cake and they started singing happy birthday and playing music without us even asking. The staff were all so sweet and helpful and let us bring our own decorations and cake. The food was also delicious and well portioned. I'm vegetarian and there were plenty of options. Vegetarian options: I'm vegetarian and I loved the food and there options. Kid-friendliness: The man was so lovely to younger kids.
