Absolutely wonderful place. Had someone monitoring the car park, and gets refunded when you buy entry tickets. Buy in advance but buy for the right place as it's got a similar name to somewhere else. It takes in rescues so they also has emu's rabbits gibbons ducks birds tortoises goats....so many different animals. It's way bigger than you think however there are benches on the way round. Not wheelchair friendly but walking sticks are okay and lovely disabled toilets near café. They had 3 seal pups when I visited and the oldest rescue was Donna who is 5 years away from being the eldest on record, . Lots of staff gardening and cleaning pens and the gift shop is reasonably priced and has a selection. There is a play area for kids and lots of signs to learn from but I couldn't see anything interactive. Wonderful adventure and more than I was expecting
Visited twice on our holiday. Staff doing excellent, hard work. They certainly love their animals. Fortunate enough to time it for the seal feeding time & enjoyed the talk by the member of staff. Love the new animals being added too & new enclosures being built. Nice to see the toilets have been redecorated.. Understand that as a charity the money is spent on looking after the welfare of the animals & sending rescues safely on their way once fit enough to be released but just wanted to say that they look loads better & your hard work hasn't gone unnoticed. Well done to all.
Variety of animals from seals, birds, goats, linx and a couple of monkeys. They all look healthy and well looked after. But they are struggling to keep some of the areas cut back with weeds overtaking them.
TUESDAY MARCH 22 Free parking today, went to the Seal Sanctuary, they say if attendant isn't there then no fee to pay. Went to beach afterward. Not busy but a beautiful sun shine cold day, lovely walk with my son.
The animals were adorable and there was plenty to see, but they looked so sad! Their enclosures were very unclean and honestly quite small.. Rats were running around where visitors walked and mice were in with some animals. I felt really bad for them because they looked so depressed
Decent value for money. Animals seem well looked after. Parking right next to it. All in all a good visit whilst our kids are still going free. If we would have had to pay for all of us, i would have been disappointed. But I suppose it all goes back in to a good cause... Cafe wasn't amazing though, so best to bring a picnic.
A good day out for the family
£4 for the day. If you go to the Seal Sanctuary they take parking fee off your admission fee. Right next to the beach, ideal parking for a day on the sand. A quick trip on the sand train to the fun fair and shops and your days full.
The work they do is incredible so no issued with the cost of admisssion. Their restaurant is very expensive and the quality of food/drink is of a poor quality.
We went to the seal sanctuary this afternoon. Whilst the seal sanctuary had made adjustments due to covid-19, such as a one-way system and floor markings, it's a shame that the same couldn't be said about the parking. The parking attendant leant right into our car to take our money, no mask and cigarette in his mouth. Luckily for us, we were wearing our masks. We have been to the seal sanctuary a number of times and we enjoy it. It is a shame that this experience impacted on our visit today.
