Visited my local Screwfix store to purchase a glue remover. The manager, Rich, looked at me and told the staff member serving me that it was fine, and the transaction was put through.nAfter I smiled in acknowledgement, his demeanour seemed to change and the interaction felt tense. He then asked for ID after the transaction had already been completed. I didn’t have ID on me, which I understand if policy requires it. However, that decision should have been made before approving the sale.nIt then took around five minutes to process the refund, which made the situation more uncomfortable than necessary. I fully respect store policies, but clearer and more consistent handling — along with a calmer approach — would improve the customer experience

Called in the other day 14/01/2026 and was served by the store manager. Absolutely fantastic help from him, patient and guided me and my wife to the correct tools and parts for our job, nothing was too much trouble.nWe haven’t been in such a friendly helpful store in many years and spoke with someone who knows what they are talking about. Thank you so much.
