Scrabo Tower

A great place on a clear day with exceptional views from the tower. You can see most of Northern Ireland, SW Scotland and the Isle of Man. The tower is easily climbed as you can stop at each of the floors for a bit of a breather. An historic place with lots of explanation boards to see. Local bird life is on display with buzzards common.

Loved it here....steep hill to climb...its common to see people running up and down this ( hat tip to them!!). The views are stunning - really amazing. Loads of airplanes can be seen on certain days due to the local airfield...a nice run around for the kids. Loads of dog walkers and a place for picnics. There is a forest park opposite - which is great..leads to a lake...it can be a more challenging walk....so if your fit...do it. Toilets on site are great also!! phew :-) The tower can be seen from miles...so a must see.

Unbelievable view from the tower, we were lucky enough to benefit from the pilot scheme opening the tower through the National Trust. Fascinating building and a great local landmark.
