Ards Airport was a Second World War fighter base. It is possible to still see evidence of fortifications designed to protect the site. Walking on the New pathway alongside Strangford Loch it is possible, because of the elevation to get views over the site. The previous day whilst driving by saw a microlight aircraft and a single engine aircraft ? Cessna type landing in quick succession.
For whatever reason this airfield now flys bigger and noisier planes.. they fly right above my house and waken my baby’s every single night of the week... without as much as a public consultation on this...

Bumped into Jon Bon Jovi here. He pointed out towards the landing strip and said "Oh, she's a little runway"
Lovely airport, very picturesque, with a great variety of different small aircraft taking off and landing.
I like this place because it's nice and relaxing looking at all the planes go by

A well kept Airfield with good facilities and Aircraft.
No airplanes or helecopters but good haribo
