Totally Incompetent Service My partner lodged a complaint with the SPSO in February, and is still waiting on a response even although it is now mid April. The Complaints Reviewer who is meant to be dealing with the complaint emailed my partner today requesting to phone her week beginning 17th April 2018 to discuss the complaint. When my partner emailed her back to confirm a suitable time she could be contacted by phone week beginning 17th April, The Complaints Reviewer's out of office reply informed my partner that she won`t be back in her office until 24th April! How can The Complaints Reviewer investigate a complaint properly, when she can`t even work out the week she`ll be in her office? Is this the abysmal standard of communication that the public is to expect from a Complaints Reviewer who works at the SPSO? Watch this space for an update on how The Complaints Reviewer deals with the actual complaint....that is, if she actually ever gets round to dealing with it....!

The critical reviews of the SPSO on this site are most concerning, and what is even more worrying is that no one from the SPSO has ever responded. This would suggest both a lack of accountability and the SPSO`s lack of interest in improving the service it is paid to provide to the public. I am about to hand in a complaint regarding NHS Lothain to the SPSO and will be posting follow up reviews on google with regard to the efficacy of the SPSO........watch this space! Update on 13th April 2018: Although I handed in my complaint in Feburary I am still waiting on a response. Lesley Neilly, who is meant to be investigating my complaint, contacted me by email today asking me to let her know when she could phone me week beginning 17th April to discuss my complaint. When I emailed her back, her out of office reply informed me she won`t be back in her office until week beginning 24th April! How am I to have confidence in Lesley Neilly investigating a serious complaint when she doesn`t even know when she`ll be in her office??!! How many more weeks will it take until my complaint has been properly investigated, if indeed it will ever be investigated properly when this is the level of incompetence of the person doing the investigating??!! Is it any wonder the S.P.S.O has only been allocated one star by reviewers. As can be seen by my review, despite their absymal ratings they are doing absolutely nothing to improve the service they are being paid to provide to the public!

I HAVE NEVER REALLY HAD MUCH JUSTICE WITH THESE PEOPLE. ACCEPT WITH A JAMES SOMETHING IN 2012 I GOT SOME HELP . HE SADLY LEFT. I'M NOT SURPRISED WHEN A COMPANY GOVERNMENT ASKS . If YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN .FOR FUTURE PEOPLE SAY THAT IS YOUR PERSONAL BUSINESS AND ACTUALLY NOT EVEN RELEVANT .UNLESS THEY ONLY HELP NON CHRISTIANS .CHRISTIANS ARE PERSECUTED BELIEVE ME KEEP STUM OR SAY NOT RELIGEOS THEN YOU MAY GET HELP. I'VE NOT FOUND THE STAFF VERY MANERLY EITHER . I FOLLOWED THE LEGAL COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE WITH EDINBURGH CITY COUNCIL. BUT IM SITLL WAITING FOR MY FINAL RESPONSE FOR OVER A YEAR. THESE EMPLOYEES AT SPSO DO NOTHING UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR FINAL RESPONSE. NO JOY I'M HOPING THE FIRST MINISTER GETS JUSTICE FOR ME AS 7 BAD BAD YEARS WITH THE EDINBURGH CITY COUNCIL AND I THINK NOW IS THE TIME FOR GOD TO AVENGE. REALLY POTENTIAL COMPLAINERS JUST ASK GOD TO TO HELP AND GIVE YOUR PROBLEM TO HIM AND IF NO JOY HE DEFINITELY AVENGES I HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE OF THIS BELIEVE ME. ONE PERSON A LONG SERVING HOUSING PERSON WITH CANMORE ANOTHER A LABOUR COUNCILLOR NOTHE REELECTED POSSIBLY UNEMPLOYED AND LASTLY A SNP I WILL BE ADDING NEW PEOPLE VERY SOON AND A CPN DOING DODGY UNPROFFESSIONLY TALKING ABOUT MY BUSINESS WITH THE X CAN MORE PERSON AFRAID TO LOOSE HER JOB SHE SAID SHE WOULD GET ME A REDUCTION ON MY COUNCIL TAX . HOWEVER I WAS NOW LABLED SEVERELY MENTALLY DISABLED I WASN'T TOLD THAT THOUGH HOW COULD I ARGUE AND SAY I WASN'T THEY WOULD THINK I WAS TOTALLY BALMY. WHICH I MOST DEFINITELY AM NOT .GOD HAS GIVEN ME WISDOM AND HELP MY HAND ALONG THE WAY. I AM VERY DISABLED THANKS TO THE COUNCIL BUT I BELIEVE I WILL BE HEALED .NEW NEWS IN A SHORT TIME WHEN THE COUNCIL EMPLOYEES ARE AVENGED JOBLESS PLUS I DID FORGET MY RECENT CHARITY ADVISOR WHO DID VERY LITTLE IN 10 MONTHS THEN SAID THAT IT WAS NOT THEIR USUAL WORK AND I SHOULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.?ANOTHER WAS MY RESPIRITORY NURSE NOT HELPFUL DOING THINGS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND SO UNHELPFUL. A FOREIGN PSYCHOLOGIST CAUSED ME IMMENSE STRESS TOO RECOMMENDING THE WRONG CHARITY COUNCILLOR AS WELL WASTING MY TIME .SOME FRIENDS NOT NICE TOO BUT THEY TOO WILL BE AVENGED BELIEVE ME IT'S WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE .FORGET GETTING HELP GO TO GOD . JUST REPENT YOUR SINS AND ASK HIM TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND GUIDE YOU HE IS AMAZING.SO POWERFUL TOO. MAYBE KEEP LOOKING AT THE NEWS ON COUNCIL WORKERS DOING BAD BAD THINGS TO TENANTS.

Like everyone else says SPSO complete unless. Compain about crooked bent social workers .SPSO told me that they could do nothing as they have no power to do anything.. .

I would give this organization zero stars if I could. If you want justice for yourself don't bother going to them. I have been fighting medical issues for twenty three years now. Never have the SPSO found in my favour even though other doctors have been shocked by what has happened to me. It is my opinion that because the SPSO are semi legal if they found in your favour you can then sue who you are complaining about. My last complaint resulted in another woman's complaint being intertwined with mine and I also received her letters therefore the SPSO breached the Data Protection Act. Very, very unprofessional.
