After weeks of battling with dealership regarding noises coming from engine bay.. finance company book me with these, I read reviews here and I thought they setting me up for a failure and they’re affiliating from each other! I was expecting a pen to hire arrive but a guy called Aaron showed up and professionally inspected the car and explained the faults to me. He reported exactly the same thing on paper. I received nothing but honesty. If you’re expecting them don’t worry about reviews here if the car has a problem you’ll get rid of it.
Absolute liars! Someone came out to inspect my car the guy who did it was lovely and said he would do an honest report only for me to find out they have completely lied in their report and the guys lied to my face about saying he will be honest in the report now after reading the rest of the reviews I knew my intuition was right about them backing the finance company so they can make more money absolute scammers and money grabbers! Liars too! I wouldn’t bother believing what they’ve said to your face because it’s rubbish and they will make sure the finance company doesn’t take back a clearly faulty rubbish car!
I’m not going to lie but after seeing the reviews I was sceptical on how this report would go. The report was scheduled by my finance company after I made a report to them about my vehicle issues. Nigel at Scotia was very helpful, he did an in-depth inspection on my car and made me aware of all of the problems that it has. I have just received my report back today and couldn’t be happier with it. All of the ongoing issues are outlined and scotia have gone into in-depth detail about each problem. Hopefully now this helps me to get my car sorted out finally! Thank you for your help Scotia!
Had my car inspected here in N ireland the guy lifted the bonnet and started the car, car then showed warning light. The report indicated it had too much oil in the car and I should have checked this? He also advised that the dpf was blocked with no diagnostics or car put on a ramp just merely guessing. I had the car recovered and reviewed by a mechanic , which shows dealer had not serviced this car, it has an oil leak along with metal shavings in oil and oil filter, the oil sump bolt was rounded off and he needed to weld a bolt on to get this off. The dealer Had also drilled holes in the lights. All this report was, was a wild inaccurate guess with completely wrong outcome. Please take cars away and inspect correctly. Don't recommend
Warning. Be very wary of James Carswell. He is unethical and a crook. He wrote many extremely overvalued reports on cars he didn't ever see. I hope no one else has to deal with this company because they are unprofessional.
Came to do a report on my car booked by my finance company as I have a fault. What he said to me in person was completely different to what was in the report. Also completely inaccurate. I will be taking this further as this kind of fraud needs addressing. To sum up he claimed a gearbox should leak heavily after 70k. No fault just wear and tear. I actually know the fault now so will be showing them how little these inspections are worth.
I can only echo the other comments really. They are in my opinion falsifying reports so that finance companies do not need to pay out for repairs. My report went something like this, we agree his clutch is damaged beyond repair but even though he’s only had the car two months the problem would t have been there at the point of sale and was fit for purpose. Incredible to assume that I’ve broken a clutch within 2 months and only driven 1.5k miles. I’ve had the car inspected by an independent BMW specialist whose report differs completely to theirs. It should be illegal what they are doing.
I got a car on finance in January. Had problems with the car straight away and was in immediate contact with the finance company to register my complaints and get rid of the car as I was really annoyed about the condition I received the car in. After weeks of phone calls and emails and arguments with the company they wanted scotia to do an independent review of the condition to which I agreed. After reading the reviews on Google about them backing the finance company I was worried I was gonna be left with the car and be out of pocket as the rac said all the repairs needing done didn’t come under the warranty as it was wear and tare. So when the engineer came out who was called mat. He went round the full car with me to see what my faults where then he done his own independent check. He agreed with the faults I reported and he found more. I’m the end his report back me up and more and the car is being returned. Can’t thank him enough for his help
Avoid this company it’s a scam hand-in-hand with warranty companies to rip people off on their dodgy reports viewed my vehicle which had an engine Failed discovery sport The whole inspection was caught on CCTV taking their engineer four minutes and 43 seconds To complete a lengthy inspection of a car with engine fail plus turbo failed To be told by my warranty company Scotia engineers deems my car where in tear so will not be paying out leaving me with hefty bills their reviews say all so avoid this company
Absolutely scam! Engineer seen check engine light during inspection. Then I can read on report - "Vehicle was started with no permanent warning lights displayed on the drivers panel."
