After an issue with train to York yesterday, the staff were fantastic, and as a disabled man they helped me get to York. The people I spoke to were extremely helpful and can't thank them enough.
There are structural works going on which doesn't make as pleasant as it might, but it is a station of two halves. The Coffee Room at the main entrance was excellent. Good, hot coffee, made by a friendly, cheerful young man. The gents toilets however were atrocious and I wouldn't give them any stars if that was possible. Out of 3 cubicles, one was completely blocked, one had no paper and the third could not be locked. When I checked back about an hour later nothing had changed, and for that there is no excuse. A very poor show for a busy station in July.
Scarborough railway station is the end of the line for Trans Pennine Express trains from Liverpool Lime Street station. Other more local trains also use this station. On platform 3 toilets are available including one for disabled passengers and there are also baby changing facilities. The station has a cafe, ticket office and ticket machines.
It is the end of the line for trains from York and beyond and has 5 platforms and is bigger than I thought and as it is a terminus you do not need to worry about lifts as it is all flat Trans Pennine and Northern both operate to there - I spent the day in Scarborough
I am giving the Scarborough Railway station a 2 star rating because I went to the train station today at 06:50 waiting for the train to Hull: I looked at the time table, and said a time of 08:22 along with the platform, which said platform 4. I was waiting at platform 4 for a couple of minutes and the train didn't arrive. so i went to the front desk and asked a woman if the train to Hull had departed: She responded with 'yes, it departed from platform 2: however, there is a bus that goes to hull' so i walked off and went to go look at the screen for platform 2. It said that the platform 2 train was off to Liverpool. The layout isn't consistent and could be more 'user friendly': I was off to my grandmas funeral today and clearly booked a ticket on the train line app, but thanks to the lack of information given:
