Finally found a great place for roti canai in Glasgow! This place did not disappoint. We had the Nasi Goreng and Moo Goreng and both dishes were delicious! Great value for money because the portion sizes are huge. It gets busy so probably better to book ahead of time.Food: 5/5
We dropped by here for dinner as a group and really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was very tasty and the portions were big. They sadly don't sell alcohol and they charge a 10% service fee smaller than we would have tipped by the way, so -1 star for these.Food: 5/5
Great Malaysian restaurant, you can smell the lovely wok hay, giving almost a street food vibe. What we tried: - Nasi Lemak with fried chicken: 8/10 really delicious, the fried chicken is juicy and tender, love the sambal and samba egg with it as well. They also offer this with curry chicken or curry veg. I wish the portion is slightly bigger. - Belachan Udon: 7.5/10 If you love spicy shrimp paste, you’re gonna really like this dish, pretty big portion, it has prawn and pork in it, it is quite spicy which I like, but my friend did find this too spicy. - Curry Laksa with chicken: 7/10 - Hainanese chicken rice: 7/10 - Roti canai with curry sauce: 7.5/10 The flaky roti with satay flavoured curry sauce is very good, a great appetiser. Desserts and drinks: - mango and black glutinous rice in coconut milk: the mango are very delicious and the gluttonous rice are great. They offer loads more dessert with mango too. - Hong Kong style French toast with peanut butter and condensed milk: a classic Hong Kong dessert, it’s a delicious combo, highly recommend. You can choose your own aside and spread such as kaya, nutella and red bean. - Dessert roti: this is such a great creative combo, I loved it, it comes with ice cream and whipped cream, I opted for kaya and condensed milk. The flaky roti with ice cream is just amazing! The only comment I have is I l wish the roti itself is sweet. - taro ball dessert: lots of toppings like grass jelly, sago and coconut jelly with coconut milk or red bean soup or milk tea, can’t go wrong with this one. - lemon tea: very good, refreshing - Hong Kong style milk tea: very good - honey citrus: really good with yuzu pieces. Overall, the menu offer a great variety of dishes, from starts to desserts, love the range of food they offer. Especially the huge range of dessert and drinks they offer! The restaurant does get busy in the evening and they have 7/8 tables. Very friendly service.
Was indicisive about which dish I should choose last night, so Ellen was being very helpful and encouraging to try different a dish. Had the Penang Soup Noodles and it was beautiful! Excellent dishes and very friendly staff! I highly recommend.
Came here a couple of times and it did not dissapoint. From the main course to the desserts they tasted great and the drinks too. I love how the staff answered that the chicken was halal but they use the same pots to cook it with other meat dishes. I really appreciate that it was clear. Great service as well.Food: 5/5
Not the best picture but definitely the best food therefore I forgot to take a picture and just dug in. Pictured here are Nasi Goreng and Beef Laksa Curry. The Nasi Goreng at Satu Satu is my go to comfort meal - the flavours are absolutely divine. Not pictured from the meal is the dessert: milo drink, French toast, and bubble waffle - all made to perfection. I have tried other desserts from their extensive dessert menu as well and they have all been really great however the French toast with condensed milk is my favourite. The music is also not loud which I prefer in a restaurant as it makes it easier to speak to whoever I am dining with and makes for a pleasant atmosphere. The service is always exceptional and the staff is super friendly. It is always a pleasure to be served by Aulia who now remembers my favourites on the menu which highly elevates my dining experience. I could not recommend this place enough!
Love coming here for meals bursting with flavour. It’s honestly so tasty. Inside is inviting and the staff are amazing I misssssed this food so much if you’ve never tried Malaysian food you’re missing out !! WHAT WE ORDERED ! Starter: roti with curry in the side for dip Mains: Flat noodles spicy with king prawns Nasi goreng very spicy! Dessert I had Hong Kong style French toast with peanut butter and condensed milk. NO SCRAPS WE ATE THE FULL LOT Parking: After 6pm parking is easier
Recommended on TikTok. It’s hard to find really good Malaysian food in Scotland let alone Glasgow. This was a very good effort. Nasi Lemak was the best dish, served with fried chicken. Penang prawn mee had a brilliant spicy kick to it. Overall it’s a good shout for the Glasgow food scene and we will probably revisit.Food: 4/5
They serve authentic and spicy Malay food. The curry rice and dessert I ordered are both great. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
Update May, 2024: I still think they are capable of serving food that is amongst the top within Glasgow, however, after a couple such experiences, I'd suggest avoiding the place when they are visibly busy, as their quality dips significantly when staff are under pressure. My partner actually threw up last time when she got home due to how oily one her rice noodles were. Original review in 2022: Would recommend for small gatherings or dinner for one, at least once a year as they do revise their menu I still miss their previous rice dishes that come in small wooden barrels. Dishes offered originates from Malaysian Chinese culture and/or the Canton area of China. Take note Satu Satu means business when it comes to spiciness. Their Hainanese chicken boneless, mostly rice dish is my partner’s favourite. Never had trouble getting a seat, but seating is limited and so would recommend booking in advance. Vegetarian options: Somewhat limited range in veggie options, but what is available is definitely worth trying.
