I have really amazing time in Sassoon Academy, all the trainer are well-skilled and incredibly talented. All the hairstylist in same course with me are 15+ years very experienced and we all here passion to learning Sassoon skill and had amazing time. I saw the a lots of bad reviews for people do the hair model, and I like to share few point: 1. All of us are very appreciate you join to be our model, model for all of hairstylist from overseas are so important, however, we’re here to learning Sassoon techniques, there’s particular way and technique, of course we do our best to satisfy every model, but here is not the place to “pay $10 for what you want” place. 2. Technically all the reference is the inspiration to achieve the elements and hair “style” on individual person, every person face, head, texture, current colour, neck length, we all every unique, there’s no “copy and paste” hairstyle, because our natural features comes to hairstyle is not copy pasteable. If you’re very particular in your hair in some way I wouldn’t recommend join in to be model. I recommend for people bringing inspiration to get to know your preference, and people who are open-minded about the hair, I believe all of hairstylist who come here with passion, to make people happy with hair is definitely our passion. Thanks
I've just come away from having my hair cut & styled at the Sassoon Academy. A fantastic experience, start to finish. Incredibly polite and friendly staff throughout the building who were all very much switched on and incredibly attentive and efficient at the time of booking. Following up with the appointment today, I knew where I was going, but as before, friendly staff were immediately on hand to point the way out to make sure I knew where I was going. Super impressed by the student / teacher ratio and indeed just how good the supervision was. The students are well supported with guidance as needed, given freedom and room to work their magic, but always with a watchful eye and helpful, supportive advice and assistance as needed. Thank you Damien! It really was a joy and pleasure to watch and experience the enthusiasm in the room. Light, bright, well equipped facilities to boot.... ...I also happened to have a fab haircut Thank you everyone and looking forward to going back for my colour! I have read some of the other reviews, which I must admit was what prompted my own... This IS a training academy, and that means there will be students, it will take time and there will be learning involved. It's an academy! Go with patience, an open mind and you will not be disappointed
Update 2nd Oct 2024 they have new offices that are gorgeous, they are still amazing and fantastic value for money. I thoroughly enjoyed getting my haircut there. Teachers are really attentive, kind and helpful to the student hairdressers . Great ambience ....//older post//I love going here to get my haircut. The hairdressers are artists and the teachers teach the art of hairdressing. Really the best place to go for a haircut or colour n cut. The vibe is amazing and it is fun to check out other client's transformations.
An out of this world afternoon! I’m honestly floating on a cloud right now. I can’t thank everyone enough. I honestly feel like a new woman! The team here are so friendly and super professional. They make you feel so welcome. The teacher was extremely knowledgeable, super nice and always on hand and the students are so enthusiastic and utterly lovely. The colour turned out absolutely stunning, beyond my wildest dreams: they really know what they are doing!! Thank you everyone so much! And particularly my wonderful hair angels, you both were so patient and caring with my hair!
Having been an advanced student here, I couldn’t speak more highly of my experience. The content was excellent. The issues I had were surely just growing/moving pains with them still finishing the building there were details not being cared for you’d expect. The front desk staff, the educators…even the people working away at getting the building remodeled…they were all very competent and pleasant. If you are considering getting your haircut here by a student, be very clear on what you want. I would say the average advanced student in my class had worked under 6 years behind the chair. I’ve worked 25. With that said I didn’t need much instructing. I came more for inspiration and that’s exactly what I found. Thank you, House of Sassoon and London for being just that…
Avoid! This used to be a pleasant , fun experience where models were treated with respect and students had opportunity to practice professionalism. Just check recent reviews , all negative. And all true. Sassoon didn’t bother to reply to any of them! Such a shame! Never again!
Vidal Sassoon Academy used to be really good with the teachers being passionate and Professional and ensuring that students took good care of the models hair with cutting and colour. However, the last five or six years, the standards of Customer Service and respect for the model and their hair has really gone downhill at the Academy especially where the teachers are concerned. Some of the teachers have a complete disregard for the models and their hair, and have contempt for the models, which is not a good example for the students. Teachers talk to the models, as if they’re stupid and don’t know what it feels like for their scalp to be burning if the bleach has been on for too long. I complained about my scalp burning, and was told by one of the teachers, Pink, that this was “normal”, and that the colour was taking to my hair. I’ve been having my hair coloured for over 10 years, so I was not born yesterday. If your scalp is burning, it’s because the bleach has been left on for too long. More recently I booked a morning appointment at the Academy only to be told when I got there, there were not enough students for models so could I come back in the afternoon, which I did as I didn’t want to wait another two or three weeks to have my hair coloured. This effectively wasted my whole day because I had to go back at 1.30pm and was there until 6 pm. I got a feeble apology from one of the teachers, but no offer of a full or partial refund for the inconvenience it caused me. VS Academy customer service has really gone downhill and the teachers are rude. What happened VS Academy? You used to be so good :/
I went for a haircut and they completely ignored what I wanted and instead cut off more centimetres than I agreed with, leaving me with no way to correct it other than to wait for it to grow back while I look like Lord Farquad. The girl who cut my hair had no experience and her hands were shaking as she cut my hair. The process took 5 hours and when I manifested I wasn't happy, they didn't offer a solution. I went there on a recommendation but I won't go back after my experience.
It is a lovely experience. I went for an inverted Bob on wavy hair. I had a very skilled Chinese student to take care of me and he did a fab job. From what I saw, all students seem to be already very competent and the teachers are checking every step of the cut. Be prepared to stay about 3 hours, but it is really worth your time. There is a beautiful energy there and I will definitely renew the experience.
I had such a good experience here - Jamie and Alan I think that’s his name! were lovely. My hairdresser, Rory, was only there for a 2 day course but he was SO GOOD and lovely. Paid £35 for a 10/10 balayage that would have cost me £280 elsewhere.
