I wish I read the past bad reviews. All true!! This experience doesn't even deserve one star. I'm extremely upset and feel robbed of my money. It was the worst experience I've ever had. From the very first day of the five-day course, I instantly regretted my decision. The instructor, Lubna, seemed more interested in extracting additional money from students than in teaching. She scans students to see who might pay extra for a portfolio day, despite already charging thousands for the course. Her teaching was minimal, and she spent most of her time criticizing other renowned makeup artists. Lubna hardly took the time to check students' work, preferring instead to run out for smoke breaks after brief demonstrations. During demos, she would boast about herself and criticize students for asking valid questions about color theory and hygiene practices. The assistants were her former students, and she was incredibly rude to everyone. I honestly learned more from YouTube videos. Lubna spent more time taking pictures of her own work for Instagram than teaching. Her sister, Uzma, who taught the hair section, rushed through demonstrations and provided no confidence or guidance. She was rude and dismissive, rolling her eyes and disappearing to share food with her assistants instead of helping students. This course was a complete joke. I had to enroll in another academy afterward, and the difference was stark. The new course covered everything from theory and client etiquette to hygiene practices, highlighting just how inadequate Lubna's course was.
The beautiful Lubna is the most talented makeup artist ever. When it comes to our brown skin: She knows her stuff FACT. Our whole family absolutely loved her. A big HUG N THANKS from the Mallick family Birmigham Nothing was too small or too big for you Lubna. Thanks. omg attention to detail 10/10 It was like I was getting a tutorial from the best in the industry. it’s all about the my wedding pictures and they’re beautiful thanks Lubna. Definitely will keep in contact sweet heart xx
I strongly give my review not to book this lady for bridal makeup. She has very bad attitude, and ruined my special day makeup by rushing and she couldn't fix my scarf setting properly and rush to leave. She charge me £600 and after seeing her job I felt I'm being mugged. Now when I see my wedding vediography I look like a goast and regret every single sec for booking this disgusting makeup artist and waste of my money. She is over priced for nothing.
My dear sister got married Last minute was let down by a local ‘artist’ I was tasked with sourcing new firm. After researching I called LRA.. LUBNA was so nice from the start. I felt lubna dropped everything to help us.. Thankyou you have a good heart and May Allah always bring happiness your way. Funny thing is she trained the artist that was too much of a diva to turn up !! JazakAllah and your assistant too
I would say 0 stars if i could. By far the worst experience ever. Double booked me on my big day only found out through bridal group!! and used fake allegations once court! Money grabbing and knows how to play the game well So glad i have evidence and proof of this. Unprofessional Said she was taking legal action against me - which i am happy about because i have ALL the proof and shes the one who has been court out. Do NOT use this service. Happy for anyone to message me regarding more info!!
One of the most unprofessional and most bad manners makeup up artist I have come a cross, this women is all about your cash, greed gets the better of her, she’s not interested in her clients, she really needs to shut her business down and open a cleaning company, cause all she does is cleans up her clients of there hard earn cash, I have asked her for invoices, but guess no reply, she is a cow boy of makeup artist trade, giving bad names to all other good makeup artist out there, I have also reported her to trading standards as well, please avoid this women at any cost, if you want to look nice on your wedding day. Hi guys, please do not book any courses with Lubna, if you value your hard earned money. I agree to all the 1 star reviews on here. If you guys still do book the course, please pay on a credit card so that you are covered under section 75. I will explain later on the review. I paid £2300 which I borrowered from family to do the 5 day course, only to be disappointed. She does not go through any hygiene, skin textures or shapes. All she does at the end of the day is get her so called PA zahraa to clean the brushes. That's it that's the only hygiene you will learn during the course. Lubna loves the talk about herself and how she thinks she is the best in the industry. She loves slagging other makeup artist, the other makeup artist apparently pay celebrities to do their makeup so that they can get followers on Instagram. Lubna is the only makeup artist that does not need to pay celebrities to do their makeup so she says. On day 2 of the course: guys get ready as she will spend over 4 hours, yep you read right 4 hours talking about a 1 min Instagram video, which will cost you £1500. She will go on and on until she has majority students saying yes you will go for it, and by the way, the ones that say no or need time to think, she will say you are not going to get far in the business, there is no 2 way about it, her little helpers will be there to push for the sale. She will then try for the remaining 3 days to get the rest of the students to agree to the video. Once you do agree to doing the video they are very quick to take the money, promising you will get the video within 4 to 6 weeks. Well guess what 5 months gone by and no video, so I give them a chase from month 2, all I get is excuse after excuse, you name it all the excuse under the sun, and lastly they wanted me to re do the video, apparently the video wasn't of good quality. So I decide enough is enough I want my hard earned money back. After 6 months of not receiving the video I contacted my credit card company who was able to get part of the money back, however Lubna still owes me a certain amount which was paid by cash. I then get contacted by Zahraa to say that they did me a favour by taking payment from my credit card. She says they shouldn't of done that, which she did not mention from taking the payment up until 6 months when I got part refund back from my card company. Oh yeah she also mentioned how Lubna and Irfan had a little tiff over this money and how Lubna was minus a certain about from her account, and that she was not happy. I can go on and on, but please guys if you value your money then don't spend it on this company. If you still to do it then pay every penny on a credit card, that way you will be guaranteed to get the money back from the card provider, and no need to talk to these deceiving people.
Avoid this woman at all costs! She is an absolute charlatan. To cut a long story short, my wedding couldn’t go ahead due to covid. This woman point blank refused to refund me the deposit I paid claiming ‘no refunds payable as stated in the contract.’ I pointed out this wasn’t the case throughout the pandemic and went as far as forwarding her the official wedding guidelines. However, she continued to deny me my money. I ended up having to go through legal proceedings to get my deposit back. Thankfully, the court saw her for what she was. For those of you who have been unable to get married throughout covid and who have paid this woman any deposit, please know that you are legally entitled to have your money returned to you.
PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! Lubna Rafiq's Course was a waste of money and time. So disappointed and feel conned by Lubna & Zara Her assistant/model/Makeup Artists! . The most UNPROFESSIONAL people you will ever come across! *On day one she tries to persuade you to pay extra for a video, DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP! Myself and the other students had an awful experience, getting video 3 months late and not as expected, I didn't have clear edits of my work. You will also have to deal with her RUDE unprofessional brother IRFAN PRODUCTIONS! To describe him as Rude Arrogant and Impatience is an understatement! He actually had told me to 'hold my horses' When I ask him about my video. He didnt give me the time to talk and he also put the phone down on me when I first called him after a month of waiting! *Lubna spends half the time updating her Instagram and taking pictures of the models, this is time we have paid her £2500! IT GETS WORSE! Her ex-students and fake 'Makeup Artists' Zara, come when they are not busy eating and talking , come and assist you. I was practising on a student while she was eating with sauce around her mouth! *No models provided, you practice on other students I paid £2500 to spend half my time sitting as a model for another student. *Lubna arrived late every day of the course. She asks you to arrive and 9:30 and she starts the class at 11:30 RIDICULOUS AND WASTE OF TIME WAITING ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET THERE EARLY *She doesn't not teach you the basics in Makeup Artistry, you would expect to learn about basic theory, working with skin textures, corrective makeup, hygiene etc. * Her sister Uzma arrved 2 hours late! She spent half the time talking about her personal life and out smoking every 10 minutes after she rushes through the Hair demonstration, No assistance with helping you when your practising. Instead, she makes rude remarks and expects you to be left to perform when you're there to learn! *LUBNA WILL TALK BEHIND YOUR BACK! She is an expert at manipulating people. When I spoke to Lubna about the fact that she cancelled on me and I had to organise time off and childcare again, she found this as an opportunity to talk behind my back. She told other students that I will never get far and even went as far as telling students to not keep in touch with me. How pathetic! All because I raised the issue about being cancelled. Where they told me the course was in a location that was 10 minute distance, I got a text message the night before the course to tel me it was in Croydon! I had every right to raise this, I ended up spending £38 on travel every day! She even lied about the reason they cancelled, and told me it was because of other students cancelling, when it was because they couldn't book the venue where they ran the course!
Honestly I watch my wedding video and it makes me cringe Lubna didn’t give me the hair style we agreed on the day. My make up didn’t match my skin, made it whiter!! My friend had to pull me Aside and tell me to go to the bathroom and check my make up as it’s cracking!! ON MY WEDDIND DAY!! Can you imagine the stress!!! She did my mums hair and make up. I wish she didn’t bother as my mums hair all fell out but the time we got to the gurdwara We look back at the video and feel so sad that the mother of the brides hair had fallen out. Too much gossiping, too much putting themselves on the top shelves blowing own trumpets. They don’t own up to any negative feedback and instead want to make you feel even worse and blame it on you. Absolutely unprofessional and tbh they don’t actaully understand different skin types and what make up will suit that clients needs. Knowledge isn’t there unfortunately I wish I booked anything make up artist for my wedding day. Upsets me just thinking about it. I never give negative feedback, but I just don’t want any bride looking at her pictures and videos and feeling embarrassed, you all should be proud and want it to be the best you have ever have looked. Oh one positive, my duppatta stayed on. Just wish my hair was higher like on the trail I had. On my wedding day Lubna did it much lower again wasn’t what I wanted so didn’t see any point of a trial..... Oh and the way she did my eyebrows was terrible!!! Wish I did that myself!! Honestly ladies do your research before you book.
