Made a mistake by booking a private caravan instead of a park rental we therefore had no comeback when caravan was not up to standard, not going into details sufficient to say it was not worth what we paid for it and would not recommend. The parks facilities are not really sufficient for the amount of caravans on site. Not really recommended for couples after a stress free break away. Oh well you live and learn suffice to say that we won't be returning here. The sea was nice though, shame about the rubbish left along the beach directly from site entrance. Thankfully there were some lovely places to visit in the area.
The place itself is lovely unfortunately the people staying here totally let it down. Fellow guests have no respect for others. Noise goes on well in to the early hours of the morning. I’m a heavy sleeper and so are my kids but we were all woke up by people stood outside caravans shouting to each other at well gone 1am. Supposed to be a family friendly place but from my experience it’s far from it. Also don’t bother with the on site chippy, it’s inedible had to actually return the fish for a refund, it was like eating a piece of chalk.
Currently at Sandy Bay, location of site is good but the whole place is a quagmire with no paths to caravans. Mud everywhere when getting in to caravan with no mop etc. Would not recommend for an October holiday.
Just returned from a short break with our 5 Grandchildren. The staff were all Brilliant so friendly and helpful. The Entertainment was a bit young for our older grandchildren but the Team were really really Fun. The indoor pool immaculate and nice and warm for babies. The Caravan was Really nice. Overall a very nice place and will definitely return
We’ve just returned from a week at Sandy Bay and it was brilliant - the price we paid represented fantastic value for money compared to a hotel or an AirBnB. The caravan was immaculate and spacious and very well equipped for our family for a week away. Our particular caravan was located off one of the site’s main roads so we could park right outside; I don’t know whether this was by design or by accident but it was incredibly useful with our two-year-old son. The location was perfect with a 5min walk to the beach and a short drive to neighbouring towns and villages for supplies. We used the pool which was very clean and well maintained and visited the playground almost every day. The children’s entertainment was a little old for our son but the team, particularly Nicole and SJ were incredibly enthusiastic and engaging with the other children. We also visited the bar for food and drinks where our son enjoyed the soft play area. All the staff, particularly Louisa, were friendly and accommodating. The food was really good quality and good value for money. We had dinner and a breakfast and on each occasion the food arrived quickly and hot. There is so much more I could say but we couldn’t fault Parkdean Sandy Bay and would definitely return here or to another resort.
Would of loved to give the park an amazing review however they experience with the pool has been a let down. 45 minutes is very little time for a swim considering that includes getting changed too, the main problem was the lack of changing rooms and by the time you get changed you have barley anytime in the pool. This upset my children as the pool is usually their favourite part of holiday time.
The caravan was fabulous, very clean and almost new. The kids entertainment in the evening was great fun. Unfortunately what lets it down is the service in the restaurant. It wasn’t busy and to wait for an hour for food is unacceptable.
We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Sandy Bay. My son's loved the swimming pool and park. Shop had the essentials and I booked my son into the Pirate Pursuit and to meet a character. I didn't realise it was only one and he didn't get to meet any other characters all holiday. I thought with it being the summer holidays you would get to see them. We enjoyed the arcades and the man handing out the prizes on our last day was called Mic he was lovely. The only downsides were the pictures on the website the caravan had a table and chairs so we packed our sons little chair that ties to a big chair but found the pictures on the website didn't match the caravan so we had to book a highchair. The pictures should match the caravan. Also the big breakfast we had on our last day was lovely but didn't come with a cuppa and you had to pay for a fruit juice. It should at least come with a cuppa. When I come back I will have to come in September as my son's friend comes then and he gets to see all the characters. Overall a lovely holiday.
Enjoyed our recent stay, however there wasn't much for our 3 year old to do activity wise and the 45 minutes swim time was alittle disappointing. Other than that we had a relaxing and fun time.
We have been here a few times now, definitely one of the best parks we have visited and will continue to do so! Very clean, direct access to the beach and staff are super friendly. Lots for the kids to do : Would highly recommend a visit!
