My return to a gym post covid. After 2.5 years away it was good to get back in a gym and Salt Ayre is my local council run leasure centre. Newly equipped and good facilities including a comfy cafe for after exercise drink. What's not to like
I've been going here 3 to 5 times a week since I joined in June and I love it. There are many class options to keep you interested with the bonus of using the gym or pool as well. The spin classes are my favourite as I love the video wall and the fantastic instructors make the whole experience even more enjoyable.
My 1st visit to energise soft play my grandson loved it! I didn't see much of him as he was off as soon as he took his coat off. Worth £5.00 for the 1.5 hrs of play he got, everywhere felt safe & was clean. Cafe was welcomed on the way out. X
Excellent spa & treatments well worth it. Had the Unwind package which comes with tea, had a vegan in our group, delicious sandwiches, cake & fruit provided along with a glass of prosecco. The staff were very attentive and keen to ensure we had the best time which we did.
They've recently changed the whole gym apparently making it a 'refurbished'. However, the new equipment is absolutely awful. It's more for older people who have stability problems. If you want to build muscle don't go to this gym. The new equipment is by a brand called "matrix" which is one of the worst out there. And for gods sake, they don't even have a bench press! But they have like 4 ab machines. Bit of a joke really, bring back the old gym. When asking a worker if they'll get any benches he said "they're on order" which was about 2 months ago. You'd better off going to body evo and 315
If I could give it no stars I would. After having payed £5 for my one year old I was expecting them to have a variety of things for my son to go play and climb on. No all there was was a tiny area not much to entertain him and he was too small to have a go at the rest of the soft play. They should be charging kids that can actually get use out of it, not from 1 years old.
We visited today to use soft play, the equipment in the baby area is very grubby and in desperate need of a thorough clean. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. We used the cafe, food was good.
Good place to take the family swimming, indoor soft play, rock climbing and much more. Well maintained
Would not recommend going to the spa called up to see if I could pay to go and use the sauna told them. I would be there in five minutes which I was then refused to let me in telling me they close at six when it was 5:20 pm after waste of my time, having a drive there to refuse me at the desk I explain to them that the lady who works at the reception told me to come down but they was just rude and not interested.
Definitely wouldn't recommend.. I've been using this facility often recently, But unfortunately non paying visitors have access to all the facilities I'm paying for!!.. When I asked the duty manager why this was happening,I was told its difficult to police who's in/out the facility... Even though the reception area turnstiles are not working 50% of the time and people are allowed to roam freely... It's a shame, but I personally wouldn't recommend......
