One of the better supermarkets. They are trying hard to keep prices down once you have joined the Rewards club get some good bargains depending the time of day you attend. The seasonal section worth having a look at
Just been. Self serve. Machine doesn't work properly - claiming the right item was the wrong item. Left as absolutely no staff were manning either the Smart shop, nor self service, and so I'm not wandering around the store looking for staff. Is there a lack of staff in this store or is this just bad management. I can shop elsewhere. Other than that, for such a large store the bakery section is comically small, and ridiculously inadequate - the rolls/bap felt improperly baked - like thick and hard, when they are supposed to be fluffy. Where was all the stock? AWOL? Like the self service staff.nnPlease go elsewhere - it's a dump.nnNB: Assume there is an automatic reg reader limiting you to 3 hours as can't imagine anyone actually wanting to shop here - just park up and walk off. Cue tourists to Matlock. As we all know this brand of supermarket tends to be inexplicably more expensive than most others. Like Wtrs.
Ridiculous queues at tills. Staff -the more mature ladies - stood nearby chatting and ignoring the growong queue. Only opened another till when there was another elderly lady about 4 deep in queue. She only had about 6 items.....yet didn't bother opening till when the queue was formed of people doing much bigger shops. Shambles of a place.
Can be fairly busy but there's enough parking. Nice and tidy store. Staff ignored us at the self check outs to talk to eachother about their weekend right infront of us then served other customers before coming to us so we were left waiting for 5 minutes before we could pay. No fresh deli or anything like that which us a shame. Only some fresh cakes etc.
