I think Saddle Safari is a great place to go and buy a bike! I would very happily shop there again and can highly recommend to others. The shop is a lot larger than it appears from the outside and there is plenty of room to look around and search for what you are after. They have a very good and sizeable collection of bikes, ranging from those at a lower price up to the more expensive brands and no matter what type of cycling you are into, you should be able to find the bike for you. In addition, there is a good selection of extras such as water bottles, bells, pumps, helmets etc. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable – so they can help you find what you are after if you’re not sure. They also take their time with you if needed and you don't get the feeling that they want to rush-off to somebody else. I also found Saddle Safari very well organised in terms of getting your bikes ready and letting you know when to collect. I especially appreciated the extra care and attention that was given in terms of providing touch up paint and maps of local cycle routes (all without extra charge). One last point – I’m really impressed that Saddle Safari support and promote charitable events. Really great to see a bike shop with strong and admirable ethics which clearly flows through to their day to day business!

Requested a new rear wheel on Friday as the rim on mine was damaged. Was told it would arrive by Monday. By the following Friday I phoned to find out why they'd not contacted me regarding the replacement. I was told it had been ordered and then was 'back stock' but they'd found me a wheel and it would be ready the following Monday. When I went to collect it, instead of the £41 quoted, the wheel was £65. The said they'd given me a 10% discount (as I bought my bike there and have been a regular customer for over 10 years.) I objected that they didn't tell me the wheel sourced was more expensive. They decided to charge me for it anyway and suggested I shouldn't grumble as £65 is cheap for a wheel. It's not the point. If a part works out as more than agreed, the shop should ask the customer if the price is acceptable. Not the first time I've had slightly underhand experiences from this shop. Will go to Evans Cycles next time.

This shop is absolutely fantastic. Hugely knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff, great stock of bikes and kit. I recently took my dad here to buy an ICE adventure HD trike, they could not have been more helpful. Its an absolute gem of a place and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Went in to SS on Saturday after my 12 yr olds haircut next door. Meandered through and asked a few questions. Staff VERY helpful and not pushy at all. Ended up speaking to one of the staff for 15 minutes or more about his bike- specifically his Bontrager stem and the integrated mounts for his Garmon and Ion800... great kit even though I have different brand bikes...AND that there is (currently) no integrated mount for my Wahoo... I was intrigued. Cycled back there specifically to see if I liked the look of the Bontrager stem on my Cervelo... Rory was brilliant and not only sold me the new stem, but also swapped out the stems and set up the integrated light mount. Meanwhile I asked Matt (slightly older, thus wiser than young(ish) Rory) a simple (for him) question about new brake pads I'd installed on sunday. He sorted me immediately. Question two was a bit more complicated and he spent 10-15min sorting that back in the workshop. Paid for the new stem and there was no charge for the 20min of tweaking my bike. Not used to that these days...bought myself a light that I don't really require for 30 quid, because I wanted to, based on how customer centric Matt and Rory had been- quality guys!! As I went outside and got ready to cycle off, met Mark who also works at SS. We had a (very) pleasant short chat about how great I was treated inside by Rory and Matt.... In summary, today's experience (set up by Saturday's briefer, yet equally friendly and HELPFUL encounter) has made me an overnight huge supporter of SS. Happy 25th anniversary- now understand why you've survived, and seem to be thriving, as many 'bricks and mortar' shops struggle. Keep going!

I have used Saddle Safari for years for almost all servicing on bikes i have ever owned. Their service is prompt, effective and excellent. Thoroughly recommended. Aside from the workshop, they are a Trek Specialist and offer a range of trek bikes catering to different levels of rider, beginner or enthusiast alike and a quantity of accessories also.
