BEST masala chips in town! The other curries had a food variety of size and flavour, but I'd get a wide mix of curries, otherwise it feels samey. The naan were true to their flavour and the staff handled the serving well considering it was Eid and busy.
I visited Sachins with my wife during the January restaurant week and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. From the moment we walked into the restaurant the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We never felt rushed to order and the customer service was excellent throughout. The menu was great for myself as I have a dairy allergy. All of the allergens in each dish were listed as were options to make a dish 'dairy free'. I knew exactly which dishes would be suitable for myself and there was a good selection of dishes available for me to choose. The food itself was delicious and for £15 per head for a starter, main and side dish represented really really good value....both myself and my wife finished our meal full with no room to even consider a dessert. My wife had a king prawn curry which smelt amazing Unfortunately I couldn't try it due to the dairy content and the amount of prawns in the dish was very very good. I had a staff chicken curry myself which was equally full of meat and the spicing of the dish was 1st class. Loved it. I will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you for a great meal.
Fantastic food. Great service. Toilet facilities you could live in. All in all a great restaurant. The £50 for two banquet menu is a bargain. Good portion sizes. Value for money. The only downside is its a bit out of the way. Tucked away sort of behind Newcastle Central Station.Food: 5/5
Outstanding restaurant. Been wanting to come here for a while and was not disappointed. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, you are able to have a relaxing meal here. Pleased that we had booked a table.Food: 5/5
Totally disappointed. I thought this place would do authentic Indian/ panjabi food. But I was fully disappointed. I had Indian food all over the country, I know Indian food just like back of my hands. But to be honest that was worst experience I have ever had. I ordered lam korahi which supposed to be medium nice spice in thick sauce. But that was absolutely full of spiced just because they used over ingredients in it. Which made it too spicy without any flavour! Portion size was small too. There was only few pieces of meat and rest was sauce! Water glasses was dirty once I asked to changed it, the staff wasn’t happy with that. It wasn’t even busy in that time. The guy who served us food he was rude too. Overall that was a bad experience. Never ever come again.
Based solely on food this would be a 5 star rating but after our experience with the owner had to knock it down to 1 star. We went last night for restaurant week, booked a table for 15 at 6pm a week in advance, it was a family meal out for the 1 year anniversary of losing our Auntie. Got there and the staff seemed lovely. We were shown up to our table and as our party started to arrive we asked the waiter for the restaurant week menu, he said he would have to ask the owner about it which I thought was a little strange. When he came back with the owner to our table the owner was not happy to say the least. He was very angry and said that we had not informed him when we booked that we wanted restaurant week and if he had of known he wouldn’t have taken the booking at all. It doesn’t state anywhere that there is a limit on the table size or that we had to inform the restaurant that we wanted restaurant week. He then said we had to hurry up and order as he wanted us out by 7:45! We were still waiting on people to arrive as they couldn’t get parked nearby and we still hadn’t looked at the menu. He stormed off very unhappy with our table. He was just as rude when he came back to take our orders. The staff were very rude when bringing drinks and food over to us for the rest of the evening. It was like we were an inconvenience. As the owner of the restaurant I think it’s completely ridiculous to speak to paying guests like this, our bill was still over £350, it’s not like we didn’t order drinks and sides. It put a massive dampener on what was already a very bitter sweet gathering for us. If it wasn’t for his attitude and the way we were treated I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and we all tried something we wouldn’t normally try with the options on the restaurant week menu. Everything as delicious even down to the pickle trays. So food 5 stars amazing, staff not so much!
I often call in for lunch at Sachins and have never been disappointed. The quality of food and the welcoming and professional staff always make it a most enjoyable visit . The menu offers many dishes that are not available elsewhere and the staff are always happy to recommend something to suit your taste .
Very disappointing experience overall. First of all took about 25-30 mins for anyone to take our order, and then about an hour and a half for our main meals to arrive, despite us asking several times to order, with the server mumbling a response and just walking off. People who sat down well after us got their meals well before us. When the food arrived not only was it luke warm but the portions were small and tasted like a tesco ready meal. The fact that we had to chase staff several times about the status of our food despite us having a small order and the restaurant not that busy especially when we first sat down is unacceptable. The table next to us also had to chase down missing food items. After all these issues they added on a service charge and at that point we just wanted to leave. We didn’t even finish our food. They could have knocked off money for the wait and poor service instead of adding a tip for themselves. We see eating out as a treat, but this was so disappointing and we do not recommend this restaurant to others - we wish we read the other one star reviews before we spent our money here, because we totally agree with them!
First of all the service was fantastic, they really catered for us and even moved us to better seating when a table became available. The food was nice, no complaints at all, I thought I would try something different than I would usually get lal goshat and it didn't disappoint. Keema naan was also great. Hot plates was a nice touch.
The starters were good but the chicken Jalfrezi which they mentioned was somewhat different was the worst curry I've tasted. It was hot as I like it but the sauce had no flavour and was the colour of greeny-brown sludge.Food: 1/5
