Tried this new restaurant in town a week or so back. Tried 5 different starters 1.chicken liver tikka 2. sheekh kebab 3.king prawns tikka 4.masala fish 5.chicken nambali Also tried 3 different curries 1. Butter chicken can improve was too sweet for our tastebud 2. Lamb charsi was the best 3. Chicken and keema karahi with garlic naan and Peshawari naan. Great ambience and service.
I would leave zero stars if I could. The food is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse the drinks were also GARBAGE. The food and drinks both feels ridiculously whitewashed. Awful. Anyone with more than a one star review was paid for sure. It was overall a very bad experience. Also, to top it of the guy who was serving on our table was absolutely horrendous on his behaviour to us. The cutlery’s were not even washed. Terrible customer service. Steer clear. Go anywhere else. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT GO HERE.
Lovely restaurant!Had a lovely time with all my friends.The ambience was perfect and the service was amazing. We had come to the place for dinner, absolutley loved the lamb chops would definitely be back for more.The Naan was fresh out of the oven and delicious The Mango lassi jar was huge and delicious.The butter chicken and rest of the main course was really good as well. What I loved the most was the service, the staff were very friendly and accommodating and made sure that we had a great time.
I went on a busy Saturday night with my family - there was four of us We each ordered a starter The lamb chops are a signature starter - highly recommended And two mains which were the charsi Karahi and dhal which was a recommended dish Portions were very generous We ordered naans which came out slightly well done - I didn’t even need to say anything the manager noticed and had these replaced for us The restaurant itself was beautiful - nice mood lighting and a subtle botanical theme The staff was attentive and friendly without being overbearing Some of the previous reviews made me nervous - lots of people complained they couldn’t tailor the menu to suit them You can’t rate an establishment down because they don’t have a dish you associate with an Indian The way I see it - you can look at a menu before you go for your meal, going there and expecting the restaurant to tailor their dishes to suit you is disrespectful
Pathetic experience. Went there with a lot of expectations but as it's said 'Naam bade darshan chote'. Horrible experience. Taste was average. Portions were tiny and the hospitality was worse. It's always attention to detail when it comes to providing a satisfactory customer experience which they failed to realize. Won't recommend.
Absolutely fantastic experience in this restaurant, the starters were my favourite part we tried over 7 different starters and each one was as good as the others. For mains I got the lamb Masala and I can easily say that the lamb was the most tender Iv ever had. You must try this if you’re in Newcastle and would like indian cuisine! Parking: Free parking in a good sized car park.
Wow. Had a fantastic meal with my wife. Food was amazing and at a great price. Staff were brilliant too. They were so helpful and food was served pretty quick. I’ve already booked a table for next week for the whole family. Can’t wait.
Food was good. We had Meat chops, Chicken Spinach, Nihari and Mocktails. I Liked the chicken spinach it was on point, but I guess Nihari needs improvement. I am not a chef but just a customer who enjoys to have good food. Then again nothing was bad at the place. The staff seemed relatively inexperienced, well no wonder the place is new but service was spot on. Everyone is polite. Good atmosphere. I am yet to try their Charsi or whatever it is called curry. But yeah good place
Really let down used to love akbars in town, but it now has a really rigid menu. I asked for a garlic coriander Nan they couldn’t do it, the waiter said we do a garlic Nan it’s basically the same thing, why couldn’t they do it there’s lots of coriander in the other dishes so it’s not like they didn’t have it in the restaurant. Asked for mushroom rice….. they only do plain rice. It just comes across as very basic food, the chips are frozen French fries. Anyone booking here because they enjoyed akbars in town will be disappointed What a shame.
New restaurant in the toon, was very impressed with the food. Husbands very fussy about spices but gets dragged along because me and my eldest love a good curry, the guys in the restaurant helped with making everything mild for him. You have to try the charsi lamb curry amazing. We did ask for the mild version but it’s brilliant. The staff are lovely, manager went out of his way to accommodate for the fussy husband. Love the deco, music and ambiance of the place. Will defo be going back
