Such a fantastic experience! Shane is really what makes the tour so great. He is a very fun, kind, and knowledgeable guy. We made a number of stops at, you guessed it, rural pubs in the Wicklow Mountains region. The pubs are your classic example of local village boozers. Some are busier than others- most have an innumerable amount of character. And the Guinness is pouring steady at all. As it goes with any kind of tour, you’ll have more fun if you approach it with an open attitude. This tour has the added benefit of loosening your inhibitions almost immediately. This was a great way to get out of the city, learn about the local culture, and drinking culture, and meet locals. I couldn’t recommend this enough!
This was by far my favorite day in Dublin. Shane is the best tour guide I’ve ever had and I travel frequently. The tour was a blast , we went to 3 pubs in the mountains just outside Dublin to see how the locals like to Pub. The pubs were great , friendly staff and Johnny Fox had Irish dancing , live music that was the best I saw in Dublin. The place is crowded but Shane has connections and we had a a table for 15 reserved for us right in front of the stage. The food was Incredible, the Irish Beef pie was my favorite meal in Ireland We then went to a pub that only locals go to and it was great chatting w the locals and they also had great music and local brews On the way home we did group sing alongs in the van led by Shane , I have not had this much fun since College In addition to being entertaining and personable , Shane also was born locally and was a wealth of knowledge on the area and history of the local beer and whiskey Shane knew all our names and joined us at every location , didn’t just sit it the van and wait for us like my tour guide the day before It was like hanging out with a friend more than a tour guide. I can’t recommend this tour enough
My brother booked a tour for my Stag for me and 12 of my close mates. I wholeheartedly can say this was one of the most memorable tours I’ve ever experienced. Shane was an absolute pleasure and he catered to all guest’s needs. I myself am not a drinker, so he went out of his way to make sure I was accommodated on the tour. From teaching us popular Irish songs to giving us a little bit of history and showing us the beautiful sights Ireland has to offer, Shane is one of a kind and really cares about his guests. He fit in perfectly as one of the lads and speaking for my crew, we were honored to be part of that experience with him. Thanks Rural Pub Tours and thank you Shane for creating memories that will last forever! Sláinte!!!
I can't recommend this tour enough. Probably one of the most memorable and biggest highlights of our honeymoon. Our tour guide, Shane, is a huge part of what makes the tour so great. He was very knowledgeable, funny and kind. He even went out of his way to email me after the tour to make sure that I had the information I asked about advice for buying a gift for my father!
We did the 3-pub Dublin tour last month for my daughter's 21st birthday. Shane was a wonderful guide and made the event special for us all. This was a fun, festive and personal way to experience Dublin life. Truly it was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.
We took our visiting friend on this excellent tour yesterday and we all had a blast. Shane is such a great guide, very engaging and making sure everyone is having a good time. We enjoyed his stories and songs while on the road, and after the first pub everybody on the tour becomes a friend . Definitely do this if you're looking for a fun day out of Dublin!
This was the highlight of my trip, thanks to the fun people we were with in the bus and also thanks to the amazing guide Shane that we had the immense luck to have with us to tour us around 6 pubs south of Dublin - What started with a shy crowd in the bus soon turned into a really fun ride and tour as people were getting tipsier, and Shane knew exactly where to take us so we enjoyed it to the max! I toured on a Saturday and the last pub we did had live music playing in Bray and with the number of Guinness everyone had in, it was so much fun!!! Thank you Shane, only regret I have is not taking the names of these people that I had so much fun with!
Shane is a fantastic and knowledgeable guide, we had a fantastic evening visiting 3 wonderful pubs. The live music and dancing were a highlight. Will be back for the summertime version where there are 6 pubs!
I recently did a tour with Rural Pub Tours and can’t recommend it enough. Shane’s great craic and as a local, he certainly knows the spots to bring you to both local and off the beaten track!. The bus is brand new so very comfortable travel in. Can’t recommend doing a tour enough!
Such a great way to visit some pubs off the regular routes. Our tour guide, Shane, was a great host and led us in some great singalongs on the way back to Dublin!
