Only tried the hot food, but it was very good. Rice was fragrant and cooked well, the chicken and pork were tasty and juicy. The service was fine, and a large portion was under £10 which is fair for Guildford.
Small space but big condiment selection. I'd like to see the frozen and beverage sections expanded.
Easy parking, reasonably well stocked for a small shop, mix of tinned, frozen, fresh, dried. Loads of curry paste and noodles. Have shrink wrapped bamboo, canned drinks and bottles from Thailand. Frozen fish, spring roll pastry, Thai chillies, ginger - most of the usual stuff. They have a take away cooked food counter too. One-way system in place, high strength alcohol rub. Fresh produce inflated prices.
Lovely produce throughly recommend.
My partner visited today around 4:30pm asking for Tonkotsu instant noodles and nori. He asked the lady behind the counter and she was so incredibly rude to him answering abruptly ‘NO’ to every enquiry. He said it was obvious she was trying to get him out the shop. Why is this acceptable? We visit this shop 2/3 times a week and we will NEVER return. I will be telling friends and family not to bother also.
Good little store but not accepting card payments under £5 is probably the most ignorant thing I've heard since the beginning of the pandemic. Card machine fees or not for businesses, it's money in your pocket. ‍
Dim Sums advertised on the freezer door as being £5.50 but rang up £6.65 at the till, an increase of over 20%. The guy on the till just said he thought the price had gone up. As at least one other person has complained of similar problems I think I need to report them to Trading Standards.
Good thai market in Guildford. In fact, the only one. Thai papaya price is high. Outside Guildford, you could get it almost half price, same Thai papaya.
Great little Asian/Thai grocery shop. Can spend a good while looking and buying the products on offer and the takeaway food is really nice too.
A perfect asian shop, very complete with products from Japan, Tailand, China and Phillipines, also you can buy fresh food for take away. I recommend it.
